Man I love your photos. The lighing alone is amazing, but the subjects are also amazing - a great blend. Thanks for sharing.
You didn't ask but by posting your fair game so.. The first and last photos I really like. The center one is not up to the quality of the other two (IMHO). Composition is not as well defined and the AFB needs to be burned for a couple seconds so as not to distract from the other areas. The gels are nice. Keep it up, real potential here. Terry
These are some nice pics! You should really think about selling some of these as prints, that is if you dont already. Lookin' Good!
Cool shots, I like long exposure/existing light photos. The gels don't do it for me, they look too streetrodder IMO.
On all three shots the composition needs to be tightened up a bit. If you are going to gel, then be sure you have a good selection of gels to choose from. That way all you shots don't look the same. What ever is included in the shot, needs to be there. Same goes for what light(s) you choose. r
Had a buddy in high school with a 421 Pontiac 2+2. The ignition cap, valve covers and the baby moons on his chrome reverse wheels were all a yellow tinted clear see thru. Who used to make that clear stuff? Cal Custom?
Yeah, there will be more over the next day or 2. Should I add them to this thread or start a new one? I posted a couple of images in a different thread yesterday, but they are probably lost forever, 15 pages deep by now . . . Thanks you guys, glad you liked 'em.
I don't know KRAP about photography!! Point and "click"!! Thats it, Although I don't see the need for the different colors, (don't get me wrong, it looks GREAT) I think these pictures are Fantastic!!! Would love to have some, especially the "NAIL" hanging in the hallway here at the house!!!...Ken
To those asking "Why the colors?" I can only shrug and say "Why not?" Because If I didn't they'd look like everyone elses pictures and where's the fun in that? Ok, here's the last 4: "safety Gl***es" 331 Chrysler Hemi, early 50s Cunningham manifold with 4 Zenith 1 barrels. Night, totally dark space, 15 seconds at f5.6, natural and green-gelled flashlight. "FirePower" 1954 Chrysler Hemi. Night, totally dark space, 15 seconds at f5.6, green-gelled flashlight. "One Eye" Basket Case 32 low-boy roadster and early magnesium Hallibrand quick-change rear end. Night, totally dark space, 15 seconds at f5.6, red-gelled flashlight and green-gelled strobe-flash. "2 Pair" Basket Case 32 low-boy roadster and early magnesium Hallibrand quick-change rear end.Night, totally dark space, 15 seconds at f5.6, green-gelled flashlight and red-gelled strobe-flash.
I really like what your doing with the subject and focus, I think most people get to thinking the whole thing needs to be visable, like in a post card or something, I love how only the stuff you want the attention on is lit up. I really like the black backgrounds. What camera are you using?
The only thing I moved was the grill shell which was sitting on a shelf. Other than that I didn't touch a thing. Canon 20D. Super wide lens. The shot of the restaurant? Nice, but nothing like what I'm doing. Thanks you guys. More varied subjects: http://www.flickr.com/photos/lostamerica/sets/72157594322589050/
