"where is the cheapest place to buy bias-ply white walls, preferrably g-78's?" all i can find is coker this and coker that... just wondering if there is another company or not... thanks! dan
I found mine at my local tire store. Took them a day to bring them in. Bias Ply whide whites arn't that rare. It's the radials that you pretty much have to get from coker. On another note though you should check out the Hamb Alliance if you are looking for tires. I know alot of guys have gotten pretty good deals from Coker when they are alliance members. Oh by the way welcome.

Gee, and just to think I kind of started this whole thing. Hey Odd ball I told ajs88 about this sight last spring and I guess he told you and that other guy about it. I would call my car a Rat Rod too if I heard about the HAMB through a Mustang forum. I hope to see your shoebox at the local cruises, looking good so far!
Looks like you've got some thick skin...that's a good thing around here. Check with Diamondback...I prefer Cokers, especially with the Alliance Member discount, but Diamondback has good deals and a lot HAMBers swear by 'em. Bryan

I've used the diamondbacks and have no complaints at all...have never used cokers before though so I can't compare. What direction do you want to go with the Ford, do you want it to be more of a custom or hot rod? I have always favored customs, but one of my favorite shoeboxes was one that I saw on ebay last year that was dark burgandy with black wheels and blackwalls....simple and tough!
As to the skins, you'll likely have to go with Coker...who is part of the HAMB Alliance or Diamondbacks if you want bias ply passenger car tires. Canada may be different. But in the USA the last bias ply 78 series non-specialty company passenger cars tires that I could find were the Falls Pursuaders, built by General. This was back in '93, and we were required to run such a tire on our Street Stock race cars. When General ran out of stock at the end of the season, the promotor had to change the rules to allow Hoosiers. Jan
think im just going to go with cokers... im going to have to sand blast my wheels yet anyways, and its too cold to stand outside and blast away paint right now! also have another project lined up... going to be putting together a 37 ford pick-up for my dad, hopefully! he is still debating on buying it, but he wants it real bad... this thing is full of "petina"
