Have mailed the guy from the site it's forsale at 12 million euros, he's been trying to get backers to turn it in to a museum/revival circuit but so far has drawn a blank. The Spanish government will assist with the re-developement but only if it's developed by the owner (so if someone buys it the EU & regional developement will stump up cash for them to sort it out) It would be a fucking fabulous place to take a rod run too even if the residence have put stuff on the main straight to stop the locals from racing on it. The owner don't live there and thers's only some rented property so access is pretty much unrestricted. There has been some car clubs visiting it and even having a show there so the owners aint adverse to us lot. I have the deatils of the Architect who has contact with the owner if anyone is interested or knows someone with 12 mill in euros to spare
That is my site about Sitges. It is probably the most frustrating thing I have ever been involved with. Ever since I first saw the track (many years ago a Spanish friend just told me when I was in the area I should go and take a look - I really couldn't believe what I saw). Since then I've always believed there must be a way to revive the circuit. The farmer who owns it wants to retire and will sell the site (around 12 million euros), once it is owned, I have contact (EU & Regional Development etc) to help fund the restoration but we must own it first. Around 10 years ago someone had an idea to turn it into a Motorsport resort - houses, garages, museum etc all on the ciruit and owned/ran by enthusiasts. Unfortunately he never found anyone to finance his vision. Since then I've been looking for backers for the circuit - one idea (there are plenty of ideas) being that the backers could run a hotel, museum and other facilities to generate a return on their investment. Every time someone suitable appears they are initially very excited and then they go quiet. Menawhile the owners have appointed an architect who has drawn up plans to redvelop the site (conference centre, car showrooms etc) which only involve preserving the circuit rather than reviving it. Fortunately so far he does not appear to have found any backers for his scheme either. That's pretty much where we stand right now - I have some property developers who are interested but they keep getting distracted by other projects, so we are still looking for a very wealthy godmother! Best wishes Peter Morley
