I got to ride home from the hospital in April of '65 in my parents 64 El Camino that was just a few months old. That's me on the fender at 2 months old. Do you know what was the 1st car you ever rode in?

near as I can figure, we had a 53 chevy 4 door sedan in 1960 when I came home. 2 tone green. we had it until about '64 when we bought a new red rambler 2 door.

I remember that chevy even though I was little. my sister barfed in it. it looked like we had corn for dinner that night..... it's funny the things you remember from when you were small.... then we traded it in soon after. so growing up I thought we sold it cuz it stank like barf inside.

must have been a Bel Air, since my brother and I always referred to 53 54 chevys as Bel Airs until we knew better.

1970 Ford Maverick. Butterscotch in color.
We also had a 1950 Chevy 2 door at the time, but the heater didn't work and it was cold out.

My dad has kept pictures of all of his cars and bikes through the years... it is really fun to look at with him, there are some great stories for every one.

(including one about the afore mentioned Maverick being so loaded down for a hunting trip the spare tire was tied to the roof and it switched lanes when you hit the brakes!)

1963 , or it might have been `64 : My parents bought their first car : a 1953 Volvo 444 ... The pink-slip turned out to be crap , so they had to let it go . Before the resale ( as scrap ), my father let us kids go with him when he took that Volvo for a spin around the block .. :) :) Fond memories even though it was a pretty lame car..

1957 Chevy Bel Air Fuel Injected Convertible, Black with White Top, Red Black interior, skirts, Continental kit, duel antennas. Old Man sold the car for like $125.00 in 65 when he was transfered to Warner Robins AFB Ga. Still kicks himself in the butt 42 years later.:(

  27. Don't know what I came home from the hospital in, but as a small kid I remember going everywhere in a flattie powered '48 Ford p/u. One of the rides that left a lasting impression on me as a kid was a short trip around the neighborhood in my uncles restored '30 Model A coupe. Side note: That same Model A was in the opening scene of "The Untouchables". My uncle used to live in Lilly Lake, Ill. When they needed cars for the movie, they contacted the Model A club that he's in. He actually had 2 cars in the movie, the coupe and one of his sedans. Just a tidbit of useless information for you today.
Ever since that trip around the neighborhood, I've always had a love for Model A's.

Black and White '56 Ford Fairlane 2dr sedan Dad bought it new in '56 and traded it off in '67, for a '67 Ford Fairlane wagon. That was a sad day for all.
