I'm wanting to paint and stripe my air tubes going from my grill to firewall. The problem is the battery sits on top of the p***enger side tube. Where have ya'll remount the battery in the engine compartment? And what are the pro's and cons of mounting the battery in the trunck? Do you loos power in the length of the cable?
    BTW: 54 chevy, six banger
Thanks for the help in advance

I agree put it in the trunk! I have been running mine like that for years in my 48 chevy...Ground it out to the frame with some 0 gauge or bigger cable and run one down the frame rail to the front for the postive side...

I mounted mine in the trunk also inside a nice battery box I picked up at Advance Auto Parts for about $12. I bolted down the box strap mounts next to my air tank and cinched it down. I ran the cables through grommeted holes and secured them to the frame. I've never had a problem. I tried to load a picture but I am not puter savvy enough to get it done

  7. I've had mine in the trunk for years. I put it in one of those inexpensive plastic battery boxes. I had the box sitting in the spare tire well up until about a year ago. Now I've got the box mounted to the floor up in the front of the trunk.
