fifties chevy three speed on a late model motor

    might be getting a fifties chevy
    will a fifties three speed work on a late model chevy v6 vortec motor
     
  2. Yeah it is possible to adapt at least a 55 or newer 3 spd trans to a newer Vortec V 6....however it is not sensible to do it that way....
    I would recommend using the fully sychronized versions made after 63 or so ...or better yet a 4 or 5 speed

    i didnt even think about that idea i got three four speed munchies laying around here

    yeah but then again a turbo 350 with a lokar 23 inch swan neck would be ***s

    Haha.. I put a borg 3spd behind a 92 sbc it was very interesting to say the least... that motor was wailing! trans didnt last long though.. i guess it was a fun experiance to say the least...:D
