Tuck took me out about eight last night and whipped more shitties--my first time on a lake...
Then we layed down on the ice and listened to it crack. TOTALLY freaky!
Hot rods are fun...I feel hard-core...it was FUN!

Since the subject is frozen lakes, and getting off topic on fishing, I'll throw these pictures in here. My dad used to spend a lot of time on Lake Winnebago ice fishing. His first fishing car was a 28 A pickup, in the late 50's, then a 30 sedan, which I don't have an ice picture of. Then a 41 sedan with a shanty in the early 60's. With the A you could lift the floor board up and fish from the passenger seat. In the late 60's he got the Willy's wagon.

There was often a gap in the ice at the shoreline where a plank bridge would be put down to get to the ice. Sometimes people would miss it and have to be towed out.

I feel sorry for anyone that hasn't driven on a frozen lake or river. They used to race "sports" cars on a lake here and still have motorcycle races every weekend. You really need to get up to about 30 M.P.H. and spin three or four donuts to really get the feeling!!!

Hey Tuck, that was great. Brought back fond memories of doing doughnuts on main street in the little town I grew up in.

Main was realy wide and you could throw your car around without too much worry. I had a '51 Ford tudor at the time.

One night my little brother was raising hell in Dads new '67 Galaxie and whacked the curb on the west, careened across the street and smacked the curb on the east side.

Family got up to go to church the next moring and the steering wheel was about 30 degrees off center when we were going straight. Bent both A arms and the car was less than three months old!

Don't think he bought the story my little brother gave him about hitting a big pothole on the way home. lol

    Thanks for the video.

Damn, Tuck. Now I get why you were busting on the 'whiners' about being cold in October in Illinois. ;)

For the record, I was one of the 'whiners' and I had a heated van. ;)
