Anybody know HOTRODSURF boys?

  1. Judging from what hotrodsurf posted, he should not be on the counter. He is better relagated to an office away from the public, maybe dealing with missed orders and unhappy customers. Strike that last one. Does not play well with others. Pat.

Unexpectedly when you look at their profiles on the web page they are quick to list the qualifications and college degrees of the workers, yet, they try to come off as hard core bikers that take no shit. Why post pictures of the owner in a suit and tout professional attitutes. Another thing whose lame idea was it to cover up the nipples with those fake Maltese crosses. Seems like it's better for them to sell on ebay that to deal with face to face situations.

    Two things
1: Yet another example of how good customer service is an endangered species. No one wants to take care of the customer anymore. Just take the money and move on to the next guy.

2: As a biker, I think it's a bunch of crap to use the excuse "we're bikers" to justify being an a**hole. That's the attitude that gives bikers a bad name.

  6. "We are bikers and hot rodders and are not nice to everyone. " WTF is that tough guy shit.. Why cant you be nice to everyone??

  7. I know a few bikers who are very nice -in fact a couple of them are customers

man this is an entertaining thread...i dont say much but openly admitting your an asshole in a traditional hot rod community with 20k plus members might hurt sales a litttle...just a little....i have been on the hamb for a short time now and have talked to many of "nice" hot rodders....i dont think i have ever met a real hot rodder that was an asshole to my generation....remeber were ginna be the guys 40 years down the road that are ginna be building cars like they did 100 years before us and i'll be damned if some 19 year old kid likes what i'm doin and then I tell him im ginna kick his ass...WTF!
just my 2 and 1/2 cents

  9. There's a name for people like that, posers.

BWAAHH!! YUP!! Puttin' on that front!

Plenty of good people to do business with in the traditional (or otherwise) industry. I'll go to them. I personally think that the Vendors that have chosen to participate in the HAMB are some of the best out there. People who DO care about their customers/potential customers and the product(s) they put out. Why bother being in business if you can't be good at doing business. Part of doing GOOD business is upholding a GOOD reputation. After all... EVERYONE is a "potential customer" in a competative business world. They just may not know it yet. That's my theory on running a successful business anyway. Not saying put on a front to get business or take money for product/work and never serve it up... that's the WRONG way to go and we won't name any particularly popular places that do stuff like that (that will get this locked in a heartbeat). Not caring about the business that's being run I guess wouldn't help much either... Maybe that's the case here? Just work to live (a lifestyle of choice)?? "Work to live" is a good theory on some level, but no reason to be a dick to "work to live"...

I was just looking over their website and I must say I'm not at all impressed for some reason... I looked at their "choppers" and Bios, I'd deffinately have to agree with the "poser" thing but I also must add that they don't seem to show off that they know a whole lot about what they do. What I mean is mostly they're taking a stock Harley and just cutting off everything that they see fit to not be needed. Which I understand exactly what they're building by doing that, a traditional "chopper," "bobber" or whatever. But where does a guy get off calling himself a "master builder" anyways? Isn't that a title your given by others in the industry and earned over time by building extordinary bikes and cars? I could never put myself up on a pedestal like that without being able to back it up. I consider Indian Larry, Arlen Ness, Chip Foose, etc. to be "master builders" not some guy named Mike who's a dickhead to the younger guys and then puts up they're poster anyways. I'm not impressed with they're work now that I've finally looked at the website... Now they've down right aggrevated me. "Master Bike Builder" you are deffinately NOT sir. Infact I've never even heard of you nor probably has any REAL masters. Do an influential build, get some experience under your belt and start being a real nice guy then perhaps some day you'll earn that right to be called a "master Builder." Just my 2 cents...

Not too mention the price of the products they are selling... I think I saw $400 for a wavy, chromed $30 repop sportster tank. Or how about $20 some odd dollars for a cheap $8 made in china cap for that tank. Don't see any use for them. Low quality, bad attitude and business practices, sell overprices, low quality products to keep "afloat"... there are plenty of other places that practice this very same business theory... but at least have a better attitude.

"Master Rat Rod Builders" ?? Hmmm...

Okay, enough shit talk for me for one day. Just like pointing out the obvious and beating the dead horse I guess...

    Carry on.

I looked at the pinstriping too, it looks like shit. It looks like they did it with a q-tip. Did anyone else see the turd on the main page of their web site? Now that's a beaut. I have a feeling these guys have huge trust funds or something.

I was rolling on the floor and couldn't stop laughing... omg that was great! These poor guys are probably gonna shut the doors and close shop tommorrow now after all this. I get the feeling that he won't be making any attempts to defend himself either after all this... Everyone move over I got a roll of duct tape and I'm gonna be a master "rat rod" builder in no time!

    Where's your response???? HOTRODSURF?????
    We are waiting???
I've bought plenty of stuff through the HAMB, whether it being a member in the classifieds or a shop from the Alliance....
I've saved a lot of money and spent alot of money.. This web-site and the people involved in keeping it going are very responsible people who look out for each other on here... This is from what I've read the "TOP Message board on the NET" and you just screwed yourself...Would I have bought something from you before reading this? YES... Now after reading this? NO

Did it say "Master builder" or "Master Bater"????? One more thing Mr. Surf, If a 19 year old kid thinks enough of YOUR shop to spend hours doing up a poster, smile, say thanks, and give him a shirt off the rack. It's not like he stole your logo and had them printed on shirts that he was selling at some shows!!! Someday he may walk back in with a couple grand in his pocket!!.
