Who makes a spring for a 42 merc frontend to mount the spring over the axle instead of infront of it. The spring needs to be about 3" wider that a model a. I've had sever people tell me some company used to make them, but i don't know who it is. I saw a t with this setup on ebay a couple weeks ago but never asked who he got his spring from. and the nearest place to me that makes springs wants $100 to custom make a main leaf. here is a picture of the setup i want to run.

How about a stock 42-48 spring. If I remember correctly, the spring shackle mount is in line with the pin.

I used a 48 f1 parrallel spring across my frontend, I think it was very close to the correct width, but I mounted mine between the wishbones.

the stock spring won't work, wayyyy to much arch, and if i dearched it then it would be too long. i let the person i got this frontend keep the spring for this reason. as soon as i get the front end together i'll post some pics of the build.

Spring over the later wider axle is a little more difficult along with the cost factor. Easier out may be a 28-36 or aftermarket axle. Later axle also may be a tad wide depending on the look you want.

Call Posies. I did the same thing you're looking to do, Posies had the spring in stock.
