Well I didnt introduce myself before making my first post which didnt go over too well. Sorry bout that. Names Joe- How ya doin? Originally from MI but Been in Laurens, SC for about 3 years now and the hotrod scene is really pretty dead around here. Found the message board while hunting online for local wrecking yards. Lotta cool backyard tech here and thats the kinda thing I like. I own a radio shop that builds and restores radios for cl***ic cars and in my spare time I have a '65 Corvair and a '66 Fury to keep me busy... By summer one of 'em should be on the road. I also have a model A firewall waitin for a plan. Anyway... Any locals want to get together anytime, shoot me a message.
Hello from Bethlehem, Pa......my daughter lives in Lexington and when we go down to visit her I always go out to Temples yard in Batsburg......love it there.......stan
Hello Joe. I am in Myrtle Beach. Myrtle beach host 2 fairly large car shows each year, "Run to the Sun" in March and a Right Coast show during the fall. Both shows are very well done and would be a good place for you to meet many South Carolinians. If you show up, come see us at the Diamond Back booth, home of the most beautiful radial tires.
You otta do a Tech article on radios... what do you think? Alot of guys here I'm sure including me don't know jack about radios and such so I think any Tech info about the subject would be well received.
Sorry I havent posted... got caught up in the $50 paint job posts on the various forums... Thanks for the replies everyone. Batch- That sounds good. Any excuse to drive out the the beach is a good one. If I can make it, I'll definitely swing by the booth. OaklandHotrods- Thats a good idea. Let me thing how to arrange it so that I can offer tips that help alot of people out and I will post something. I try to be careful, especially when I am new to a forum, I like to help but hate to come off as one big adverti*****t for my company. I'll try to post something useful in the next few weeks.
Welcome from the upstate, Greenville. I'd like to talk to you about the Wonderbar radio in our '57 Caddy. I get to Laurens occasionally so the next time I'm headed that way I'll drop you a PM and maybe we can hook up. There's a bunch of stuff happening in the upstate. Keep your eyes peeled. There's a Road Devils gig happening at Gypsy G's soon and the cruise in's will be happening soon.
Hi from Charleston, ya the hotrod scene flat ****s.... but as more move down here the better it will get...
Welcome to the HAMB! If you stop by my booth at this year's Run To The Sun (March 15-17), I'll give you a t-shirt. That goes for any HAMB'ers! Booth #86 and hopefully my old jalopy will be back together in time for the display.
