Yes, it is that time again! The first meet of the year at the Wise County Sherriff's Posse Fairgrounds in Decatur TX. ALways crowded, rain, snow, or shine. Been going there for over 25 years. Found lots of stuff, made some good friends, enjoy it! Come on down, or up, or over!
Friday, but don't plan on getting the early scoop. Bass is probably already standing at the front gate.
This is a great swap meet. Have they ever had it when it DIDN'T rain? Me and my wife have been several times in the last few years and have a great time. I always find something I "need". It always falls around our anniversary so we hit it and a nice place to eat on the way home. See you there.
I was there last year for the mud bowl. My shoes still leave a muddy outline when ever they get wet. Good take. Wish I was going again this year.
Hope to get there on Sunday if I don't get lost. First time for me since it's some 3500 miles from my house, but whatta heck. There's also an show next weekend in FW http://www.txshowcar.com/index.html that I'm hoping to see during my visit there
We will be selling insulation. Our space #'s are Row CP, spaces 1136 and 1137. Its probably out in the boonies since this is our first time and we waited late to get the spaces. Hope to see some HAMBers there. Drop by and get in out of the rain and mud and bring me a cold one while your at it!
Welcome to Texas! Hope you have a great time. If you're going back to Finland before March 31st, you're missing out! Try to see if you can get your holiday extended! http://www.lonestarroundup.com Oh, and I'll be there with my waders on.
We've been there for 4 days of beautiful sunshine, everybody in shorts and tshirts, for 4 days of rain, everybody in ponchos, for 2 days of snow & 2 days of beautiful sunshine, for dustbowl the whole time, Decatur has a varied climate at this time of year. The current forecast is for a nice Thursday, a 30% rain Friday, 60% Saturday, and a nice Sunday. Sunday is usually packing and go-home day so if you're coming, make it early! Best buy days are Thurs(setup) and Friday. BUT...you never know what's gonna show up at Decatur or what day!!
Alright, I screwed up last year and just drove to Decatur, never having been there, and wasted valuable time trying to locate the fairgrounds. I'll be headed west on 380. How do I get to the grounds? I'm trying to find it on Google Earth without much luck.
Latest weather update is for a thunderstorm line with high winds and possible hail, to come through Late Friday night.
