Ok everyone just an idea here my 14 year old daughter just went through cancer and you know them cancer signs they have, well each color has a meaning, hers was lymphoma lime green and dark green is childhood cancer and yellow for general cancer awareness. I would like to have an artist on here to make a cancer ribbon for her,so when I paint my 56 Ih I can put it on there to make it stand out ! Ill even post a pic or have it posted on here of her. There isnt any hot rod ribbons for cancer.lets make it happen! make something cool !
Thats an interesting idea, there has been a lot of folks on here who's friends and families have been touched by that disease.
I'm not really into the whole ribbon thing but my wife is a survivor and I think this is a cool idea. So how about something like this? -stick
I'm in, (think itsa great idear) The wifie had non-hodgkins lymphoma (adult)...I never put 2 & 2 together and realized there were colors to go along with it (IE pink for breast cancer) Any of you cats know what the color is for that?
dunno non-hodgkins, or others... but, being a stage III melanoma warrior, myself, I know that ribbon is black... kinda depressing, I always thought it oughta be tye-dyed browns or something....
Lime Green. No I didn't know that off the top of my head. Here's a couple complete listings of representative colors that I used to find the right color for sick family members; http://www.personalizedcause.com/ and http://www.raisingcancerawareness.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=2
Lime Green. No I didn't know that off the top of my head, but I've had sick family members (colon, lung, and leukemia). You can find complete listings of awareness colors here; http://www.personalizedcause.com/ or http://www.raisingcancerawareness.com/index.asp?PageAction=Custom&ID=2
As a 5 1/2 year survivor of squuamus cell carcinoma resulting in a good bit of my throat, neck, and lymph glands being removed.I would be happy to do something up.Tell me what you'd like it on and it will be done. I never realized that different colors signified different types.Learn something new every day. Went to a motorcycle swap meet last Sunday and ran into some old friends;all of whom were cancer survivors. One of them gave me a great little button to wear that simply says(black on white)"This is what a cancer survivor looks like".Can't put it any better than that.
I'm a lime green, too. My doctor told me I am CURED last month. I'm no artist, but I would like to congratulate you daughter, and wish her luck in the future. Slonaker
What a great idea, maybe on my next project i might get a grey ribbon (brain cancer) put somewhere, as a little reminder - thanks again what a top idea!!
You gotta chuckle outta me there.... (what can Brown do for you?) Congrats my friend....heres toward a clean first two years....After to talking to many many folks in my travels around the world its amazing the amount of folks that have been affected by cancer....its an epidemic (of sorts), My wife's is due to industrial waste in the environment, she grew up in a copper mining town, contracted cancer soon after we were married, the majority of her mass was copper and nickle...we did the research and found MANY more like her in her town (even alot of her relatives, though they were different strains) A class action had already been done and found that there was no verifiable proof that there was any wrong doing on Phelps Dodge's part....(I hate that company) When they found my wifes she was stage IV, two strains of Chemo and radiation damn near killed her...comma for a 3 weeks etc, Docs told me to start making "arrangements". I refused, She is much stronger than I and I fight wars for a living....she pulled through, she's been cancer free for 7 years, just had our first kiddo after waiting the docs perscribed time limit (5 years)...and he dont even have two heads! (the joke was that he'd glow due to all of me wifes radiation...hey you gotta laugh about it after the fact, nothin laughable when your/she was going through it though) Anyway, enough of my/my wifes story....If someone wanted to design a lime green one thats oldskool kool and looks like its going fast, I'll put it on and give credit where credit is due.....(aspiring striper...though I presently suck!)

Hey sweetheart (term of endearment, I'm NOT hitting on a 14Y/O) I must say, your a RULER....you sound much like my wife (trooper, good attitude etc) You made it through the thick shtuff and learned at too early of an age that life is a precious thing....live it to its fullest. Sounds like you got an awesome pop as well... My wife takes a pretty large part in cancer education and an active part in the American Cancer Society....I know your pop has already mentioned cancer education.....but keep on it girl....
All I can say is, glad to hear you got a tuff girl that beat the epidemic. If I can help w/ an idea, I'll give it a shot. Keep on keepin' on.
