here is the new chrome powdercoat. it looks good. Not a lot like chrome, more like polished aluminum.
Looks good! I've never gotten chrome powder coat to have the luster of real chrome, but it certainly has it's place. I'd roll it just like that.
Also, was that clearcoated? What % gloss? The company we get ours from (Cardinal) sells chrome that is an 80% gloss, but looks more like an aluminum AND it has to be clearcoat powdered for durability cause the chrome powder wont last. Sorry for all the questions, but we have been looking for a decent alternative for a product we make and that meets the standards lookswise.
looks good, a few years ago i used to sell primax wheels they had chrome powder coated wheels they called it "summer chrome", it was clear coated but looked a little brighter than yours but still wasnt chrome & less than half the cost of other chrome wheels & the coating was durable
I've shot quite a bit of chrome powder (for a hobbyist, anyway). Unless it's clear coated, it won't last. The clear makes it less reflective. More like silver than "chrome" or even polished aluminum, but without the clear it'll stain and dull quickly, especially in an engine compartment. The powder company tells me thats because its a "highly pigmented" powder. Looks like you did a great job, though!
