Heads up Northern WI.

Just noticed tonight on the way home, someone just rolled a late 30's or early 40's Chevy P/U into the local salvage steel place. I didn't get in to look at it, but it looks complete from the highway.

It's inside the salvage yard on Highway 8 at the north end of Prentice. They are open til 5 pm Monday - Saturday.

I know these guys. If you are interested go check it out but don't bother them with a bunch of phone calls and tire kicking. They don't know anything about the truck other than it is worth **** lbs. of s**** steel.

 

Is that the place that was an old Ford dealership...still has a neon Ford oval sign on the roof?

Just a quick update. I finally remembered to take the camera to work and was gonna stop and snap a couple of pics tonight, and low and behold the truck is gone. Hope one of you guys out there got it.

you gotta see the 250 30s to 70s cars in the process of being s****ped at worth enterprises/country boy junkyard in superior wi. now that is sad but the cars have been sitting for 30 years and are really picked over..the owner is willing to let rodders scavage for a small fee,but you gotta hurry call 715 398 6235 ask for troy

Speaking of Northern WI (and I'll include the UP of Michigan), I heard the rersults of an interesting study. The study showed that nationwide the last words spoken in 80%+ of the fatal traffic accidents were "oh ****'. The only exception was Northern WI and the UP. In that "special" region of our counrty the last words spoken were "hold on to my beer ... I'm gonna try somethin"

If anyone is going up there and finds a 49 or 50 chevy, I need the trim ring from around the guage cluster. I have a wanted out there on the board with a picture of what I need. If you pull it and send it to me I can helppay your gas bill.

 

i dont know if any of you northern wi. boys are around woodruff , but they got a really nice 35 coupe in the hardware store on rt. 47 east of 51 . i think its a ace store. they got a little museum kinda set up in the back with gas pumps and such. if any of you boys are up there , check it out. its across the street from the antique store that had the willys jeep sedan delivery body out in front. mike

 

also, on 51 , just south of hazelhurst, there is crown point cl***ics. they have a lot of old iron sitting out in the open so you can see it from the highway. i dont know what kind of guys they are but if youre there, stop in. there is also a guy that lives on old 70 by lakeland high school in minoqua that had a 39 or 40 sedan , black primer with flames next to his house. i was gonna stop and ask about it but boss lady said we didnt need any more right now . what does she know! mike.

 

If you guys happen to go up there and spot a '60-'66 Chevy Suburban, please look at the sliding rear windows for latches for me. I need the ENTIRE chrome latch, not just the part removable by unscrewing it. It's just held to the gl*** with channel setting tape (that's why they're always missing!). If need be, don't be afraid to remove it from the gl*** with a rock or a hammer!
