Just saw some pics of Jungle Jim's Funny Car with Pam's **** up in the air! What ever happened to her? I heard Jim killed himself over her??
Try these:http://www.nhra.com/50th/top50/J_Liberman17.html http://www.junglepam.com/jj-photos.html Bill
She was at a hot rod show in Macungie, PA. back in August.....Still looks pretty good to me....I don't know about that killin himself thing. She was still promoting the Jungle Jim cars and race team. Seemed like a pretty OK person........I was hopin to see her in that knit top she was photographed in years ago......Oh well we can dream!!!!!
I wish she'd come out west for theMarch Meet or Cacklefest! She must be 55 or so, but damn, I'd pay to have her be my dragster's back-up girl just once, just for the bragging rights, wouldn't you?
Pam is alive and doing well. I see her quite a bit as she only lives 15mins. away from me. Yes, she still looks great. As far as jim killing himself over her? Probably not. Most say it was a car acident, not suicide. Maybe one day I'll get her to chime in on here. She's a great person. Spike
How did Jim die?. I thought in a race car, he was pretty young. I can remember seeing him run at The Grove in WI. or was it US 30???
Hotrod did a good history of Jungle a few years ago. From what I remember, he died late one night hauling *** in a Corvette.
Yup..died right up the street from me on Rt202 in PA. in a Corvette..hauling *** is what Jim did. He was "extreme" before there was an "extreme". Spike
From the link above: He died at the age of 32 after suffering fatal injuries in a head-on collision with a bus on Sept. 9, 1977. He died at the age of 32 after suffering fatal injuries in a head-on collision with a bus on Sept. 9, 1977.
Great thread, thanks for the trip in the way-back machine. Loved lookin' at all those photo's in Pam's s****book. Those white Go-Go boots are the ****! Not to mention the legs atatched to them.Growing up in the 60's and 70's I was a huge fan of drag racing and model building. Spent so much money $$$ at hobby shops on model cars, of the ones in the pictures. Always wanted to build the BIG Revell Jungle Jim model, but never did. Hello E-bay. Guys like J.J. where my hero's. Anyone remember a movie called funny car summer?? Can't recall if there where any cameo's by Pam? Mainly focused on the career of Jim Dunn of Dunn and Rieth funnycar fame. JT
Word at the drag strip is she's dating Speedy Rat from Speedway Motors! That's just what I heard. Keep It Real, Carl of the Cheaters
I hear the medical examiner found over 32k on his body. Story told is he liked to peel off money to do all his business. No checks, no credit cards...
Pam looks better at 55 or so than I did at 25.... But what caught my eye in this thread was the top Camaro. On the quarter panel it say "Ch***is by Al Graeber". I wonder if this is the same Al Graeber who raced circle track Modifieds on the Penn/Jersey circuit? I believe he lived in Chester, Pa or thereabouts and was a hell of an engine builder too. If it's the same one, I wonder if he built any other drag cars? Jan
Thanks! I never thought anyone would know the answer or care.. Graeber painted his circle trackers pink also. Jan
He built a bunch of cars. "Tickle Me Pink" Charger was one. oops! Looks like others already mentioned this...
Hotrodphotos, if you know her, why not turn her on to this thread and get her signed up as a HAMB member? It would be awesome to have some of these ladies as members so everyone could keep up with what they are doing, and I think they'd be blown away by the fans they have here. Just think of the pics and stuff she probably has in her personal collection.
After reading through her site and other links, I'm thinking the whole JJ-JP saga would be a good basis for a movie: ala Worlds Fastest Indian.
i saw her up at the us 40 drag show in york and then got to talk to her too also at beaversprings drag strip. what a babe got her to sign me some pics of her and jungle and bought some from her too .
