So I went to look at this '64 Econoline van (windows all around, but no bench seats in the back) and need some advice on value and problem areas to look at. Its unmolested, totally original inside with itty bitty bucket seats, all the doors are solid, etc. etc. It's currently registered and runs with a jump-start, always a California car. I understand it's impossible to value something like this without seeing it, but could some of you with experience in these trucks/vans give me some advice? could be a pretty cool parts runner with very little investment. I appreciate the advice.
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/oldeconolines/ I joined this group when I bought my pickup, good photos, helpful people... gotta join to ask a question, but nice group. I'd ballpark between $500 and $3000 depending upon shape, got a picture?
I haven't a clue what early Econolines sell for in the real world. But my buddy bought 2 '66s...one a work van with only 20K miles and a raised top camper van for $600 in Cleveland, Oh last summer. The work van had no rust but needed some tinkering to run well. The camper had some rust but ran well as-is. He sold them both and got around $1000 each. So take it from there.. Jan
We paid $400 for our '64 Econoline van, but it is/was in rough shape, not running, no brakes and some bad rust/bondo in the body. It is currently getting a 390 FE swap, and alot of sheetmetal work. If it is running well, decent body and driveline, I wouldn't feel bad about $2500. Stevo
