Well I searched and I searched but I couldn't find.....

so, any ideas on hidden turn signal switches? Don't want a box hanging off the column.

I would stick with the arm thing too...but most people ***ume youre flippin' them off!! Maybe you could try something off the XK Jaguars or even early fords headlight switchs arround the horn...It wouldnt be self cancelling, but you could have your turn signals.

I have an on-off-on toggle switch mounted right under the 32 dash in my Model A truck. You couldn't find it if I didn't show it to you. It works good you just have to manualy turn the signals off after you complete the turn.

I think that posie did a switch that was mounted to the front of the seat bottom.. you had to reach down betweeen your legs to hit it..

I cant remember which car it was on.

I would prefer this method to the dumb aftermarket switches available today..

How about a couple of floor mounted dimmer switchs ?I know it sounds dumb ,but if you used a flasher for each side you could also have hazzard lights too I think it would work and nothing is showing.

Both Hotronics and Watsons Streetworks sell a signal setup with an adjustable timer. It flashes for x number of seconds and then shuts off, so you won't drive forever about to turn left........

I wanted to run one of the vintage after market turn switch gizmos, but found out that it didn't work real well with factory stop lights so I ended up adding in a couple of relays. By doing this I could use the old style brake lights and have modern type turn signals/hazzards. Ultimately you could wire that same setup to a simple switch mounted where ever you like. It worked for me.

  11. a momentary on-off-on toggle switch. You have to do the 'toggling' but it always turns itself off. Mount it anywhere you want.

My Comet has a digital turn sygnal ***embly for a motor cycle made by Signal Dynamics. You can mount the momentary switchs anywhere. It has emergency flashers also. The part number is 1501 and their phone number is 800-785-1814 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. USA

Shanes right on, but replace his on-off-on toggle with a momentary on-off-momentary on and you do not have to worry about it being left on or accidently left on.....

I took the turn signal switch out of a steering column, mounted it on an aluminum plate, mounted that under the dash with just the lever showing under the dash. Mine is a GM unit. Uses all GM parts and wiring diagram. Cheap!!

  15. Get one of them add on aftermarket clamp on switches then mount it under the seat with the "lever" facing forwards.......
that way it will have color coded wiring and a built in stop switch override circuit that allows the stop and turns to work simultaneously like they should.

For a cheaper option, the MG A as well as the MG B used a dash mounted switch that self canceled at 9 seconds....I've got one on my 49...works a treat!

I used some from parr automotinve in okc and i think speedway sells them also. two red 1/2 inch swuare ****ons that light upo when they flash right and left and the whole kit is about 80 dollars i think you simply push on and push off work great and you mount them where ever you want mine were on side of seat near shifter ....

I run one of the Hotronics units on my '32. It has a momentary toggle that is just barely visible under the dash, to the left of the column. It is wired in to the brake pedal switch so that it stays on while the brakes are on at a stoplight. When you come off the brakes it self cancels in 15 seconds. The delay can be set for up to 2 minutes if you want it longer. Works pretty good, but I have to run carbon core wires or the electronic interference makes the signal come on when I rev it up.

I have mine mounted under the dash, with the arm just protruding out. I got the idea from a car I saw on here, I think...no way am I naturally that clever...

  21. I use a pair of TPDT (Triple Pole Double Throw) toggle switches mounted so the switch throw is horizontal.
One way they send power to the brake lights, the other way power goes to the flasher.

The big help with a manual turn signal setup is a pair of reasonably bright indicating lights on the dash.
I use a pair of aircraft pilot lights that are small, but bright.

I'm liking the for-real turn signal switch mounted under the seat and have thought about using one just to the left of the steering column and under the dash - barely exposed....
