It feels like I got over a couple of humps on the modified this weekend. I actually worked all three days of the long weekend. I did a bunch of little things that have been holding up larger tasks. I got the lever shock dog-bones shortened and their mounting brackets made (but not installed yet). I cut up one of those old finned aluminum coils and gave it new modern guts. It looks like new! I got the new floor about 1/3 of the way done.

But the biggest step was getting the front and rear end sorted out so that the car sits on working suspension. I took a leaf out of the front and added one to the back (plus a 1 3/4" stack of 1/4" spacer plates). I rolled it outside to be able to look at it from a distance and check the stance. I think it's pretty close, but I will make my final judgement when the grill is finished and installed. If anything, the back may need to come down a wee bit. That is easily accomplished in small intervals thanks to the 1/4" spacer plates.

Anyway, here's what it looks like so far. What do you think about the stance?

Next weekend, the floor gets finished and the lever shocks get installed. I've got the urge again!!!!

The Armstrong shock. The arm had two bends (both the opposite of what I needed) that I took out.

Looks awesome! I love the rake, but then again I'm partial to the 60's-70's stinkbug stance:eek:

  24. Like the coil, mine is similar. Too bad some gangbanger painted a neon 6 on the car. But you will paint it, right?

I think it's a 195, even. I guess Kirk doesn't have anything to compensate for?

    Stance looks good, boss...

that long wheelbase looks great, gives it a low look without being too radical.
