I'm willing to bet that some beer or something a lot more potent( and a lot of it) was involved in making up this combination.

I would be very surprised if it ran that way.

It looks like the Radiator Hoses wouldnt clear the Hood if it were shut, for example.

My guess is this is just a gimmic to get lots of people to look at his auction, and going by this Thread, it works...

If you can't see a difference.....it does no good explaining it now does it....:p :D

    Mid-late 70's 'vette's are DOGS....and with a flatty would even be SLOWER.
Engine swaps should be for more power/speed...

Seen a flathead in a Mustang ll once at a car show...I was tempted to look under it too see if it had a early Ford front suspension but I didn't think my heart could take it...

A few years ago I rebuilt the running gear on a '46 Ford Convert for a guy. The engine he brought me to use was a fresh (?) '49 Ford pickup V8 that had been crammed into a PINTO ! The "craftsman" had welded up a tubing intake manifold (adaptor ?) that held a side draft Japanese 2 bbl over by the master cylinder. Opened the pan to see if it was actually rebuilt - apparently it had never been fired since ***embly.

Why would someone want less horsepower in a vette?

Maybe it was the only engine they had laying around and wanted to drive it.

I'm going to guess there is a C3 Corvette engine running around in an early Ford somewhere:rolleyes: or photochopped

Well, I have to say, that is weird. Engine swaps in early Vettes can be kinda cool though. The Olds and Caddy V8s used to show up in '53-'54 Corvettes at one time, I remember seeing them in the auto swappers when I was a kid. I haven't seen one in quite a while, though, they've probably all been undone and restored back to stock.

Think out of the box, maybe its a Hot Roders fight against every 350/350 vette powered StreetRod.

I'd love to take that thing to all the high faluting corvette shows and throw flathead smoke and leave oil slicks all over the place.
    They would love me.
I hate corvettes unless they are under 1964.

I could understand it if it is a 53 or 54 vette and it was done before the small block came out in 55. If so he probably wanted a corvette that could keep up with the v-8 fords. Those six bangers were dogs back then.

That picture was taken just down the street from me! His other auction is a 50 Ford. That's when I recognized the service station those pics were taken in!

Unbelievable that someone in my neighborhood found a car like that. He's always got some old iron in his lot, I didn't realize he sold it on eBay.

Guess I'll have to stop by and see what the story on that Vette is.
