"Yeah take the cockroach.Ha. HA. Your cars not going to rust either Deuce Dog. Are all 32 Fords rust proof? Real rodders have to fix rust before they can go anywhere. Ha. HA.(Just Kidding)" Tom, So sorry for your rust problem...Your old man should be able to help, and no, not all 32's are rust proof...wise guy! Nick, "you have something on Sunday", what's HER name? If its not raining do you want to ride with me? I need to get you dad's long board back to him anyway. Maybe meet in Collinsville? DD
John, My "Old Man" has helped me a lot. I've got all the floorpans in now. I am raising the tunnell because the driveshaft was rubbing. Here's a build up thread if you have not seen it already. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=142342 See ya.
Sunday noon on the rock road Chuck-a-Burger. Sounds good. On a different but same type of note, every sunday at 9:00a.m. a few of us H.A.M.B.ers meet for breakfast. Hwy 55 south to Hwy M (Barnhart exit) left (east) 1/4 mile to Holties Grill. Great cheep breakfast. 1swank1, man I was all geared up to go to creative customs on thurs. , then checked the little misses calender and she is workin. The boy aint quite old enuf to drag my drunk ass home yet. so I'm stayin home. king
her names amanda. My dad will probably wanna go too. If not ill ride with you for sure. Oh! My dad desperately needs his long board so we can finish my truck.
I'm considering coming to this, especially if it is warm enough to get the roadster out. But I have no Idea where the original ChuckA burger is??? I'd be coming in from Jefferson City, either from I-70 or I-44 can you lead me on in?? Or what is the addy, and I'll map quest it. Thanks, Rusty.
I can't think of they addy but check Bomberstl's post theres a link to the chuck a burger website hope this helps
See you guys there! Trailer-Ed...70 east, I-170 south, to St. Charles Rock rd. 1 mile west on the right hand side. Hope to see you there.
Hopefully it'll be a nice, might make it up there myself. Just beware of the ChuckABurger gestappo, if they think there is going to be a lot full of cars and yours isn't nice enough you might be invited to leave.. true story
Nah that was the previous owner I belive cause I remember some cruise nights a couple of cars getting turned away for primer spots and no clear but thats changed within the last few years. And I think BombersSTL's dad owns the place but not for sure I thought thats what he said.
When my grandpa ran the place he was more into "show" cars and didn't understand the work in progress types. He passed away and now my dad owns the company, and I run the rock. rd. store. Neither my dad nor I have ever turned away any cool traditional ride, I'd probably make 'em park on the street if it was a complete piece of sh-t though. We are trying to get rid of the image that we will turn down anything without shiny paint or a $25,000 price tag. Actually my car club put on 2 successful shows last year dedicated to pre-65 traditional cars only. Just trying to clear up any rumors and bad feelings toward us. thanks.
Any of those shows going on before June I was at both last year and had a blast but I leave for overseas in june so want to have the ride out as much as I can.
Your grandpa ran the place when I used to cruise there. I remember backing up to the billboard one night (the one with the headlights, you know what I'm talkin about) and I walked in to grab a bite. He meets me at the door and says "what are you parking over there for?" I had to think a minute, hoping I wasn't in trouble or something, I thought parking around the building was for curb service. He said "you come here driving a good looking car like that you park it right in front!!" I will never forget that, I thought it was cool as shit! If he had only seen it up close he might not have said that..........
we are going to try to have one as soon as possible. (May sometime in May)Show dates will be one of the things discussed with my fellow club members on sunday.
I'm going to plan on bringing my 29 RPU barring rain/snow/ subfreezing temps. If it is just sub freezing I'll just bring the Willys. Hopefully see you guys there. Later, Rusty.
Sweet!! Me and Nick32Vic were just talkin the other day about having car related withdrawals. Bout time I got my fix!
In all fairness that happened a long time ago and we joke about it now. However, that car did become front row quality later on in the 90's. I have not made it to the new ChuckABurger yet but look forward to it this year. Say, being a FNG, maybe this has been discussed, is there such a thing as a HAMB window decal? Currently I have a Palace of Poison decal on my vent window.
Actually I own the rights to Palace of Poison, and reproduce similar stickers to the original if anyone is looking for them.
Sounds cool. I think I can make a Sunday at noon showing. No ride just me. Car needs to much to make it by then. Carter aka toad32

Last night's weather forecast looks a little bleak for Sunday...everyone still in? If it's raining I may cancel and work on the car. DD
