ive got a chance to snag a 31 chevy 3w coupe, 3inch chop, new built 318 engine and ****** installed, 4 link , all wood replaced with metal, top filled, needs finished, just wondering if anybody else out there is restoring a chevy? thanks guys,, hope to be aroung here lots.
Thanks, The car is actually a customer’s car. It is going to be shinny, it was also supposed to be smoothed. I was able to put door handles and trim back on along with splitting a new Dan Fink hood so it was a bifold again. They opted for a hood ornament again also. Shooting for a shiny, none year specific build that is a real driver. I will say it straight up. I like and appreciate shiny, nostalgia, and stock builds. I understand some folks have deep pockets, some just like old school. I do see younger folks getting knocked at events for there old school and RR builds, and that just ait right. I have both flavor rides myself, and I try not to be so narrow minded as some. Hell, I like rock, country, new stuff, red heads, blonds, brunets, and nuns. Bottom line is they really need love also, lol.
I replaced all the wood in my 32 5 window. That was a big job!! http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com..._2006_detroit_autorama_coverage/photo_22.html
Here's my 34 that I built.... Chopped 3.5, new wood, steel floor, filled roof, 327, turbo 350, 9 inch rear, louvered hood sides, bobbed rear pan, etc, etc etc. It's not that traditional(I have since seen the light ), so I don't post much about it on here but it is a steel bodied car that I drive the wheels off of. -Rich
34 Chevy full fendered 5 window coupe..it was built in the late 80s pro-street narrowed Dana, big MTs, alum-headed tunnel-ram 350..in grey primer..right now starting to tone it down a bit...

31 Chevy 5 window. I hate the flat front and stock visors, so I made a new visor and will hide the wipers up underneath using a cable drive. Chopped 3 inches total. 1" above the door, below the drip rail, and 2 inches through the windows. Rear window was chopped 2" and dropped 1". I wanted to thin the roof profile. Also removes part of the body bead behind the quarter windows. The frame rails are bobbed and coil over rear suspension. I adapted a Model A 4 bar kit to the Chevy frame. Single leafs on front from Durant, and a 6" drop tube axle. 350 - TH400 driveline w/ 9" Ford. Maybe on the road for Americruise this year. The before picture. It was a complete 31. Mechanical brakes, trans, engine, etc. Pulled out of a corn crib and barn in Fremont, NE.
1933 Chevy 3 window coupe. Former oval track racer. It's sitting on a 53 Chevy frame with a 327 Chevy engine. We plan to make it both street and track legal for Car Cruising and Vintage Racing.
