Just stumbled across this (again) on Ebay, is anyone using one of these and are they any good ? I'm interested as I can't get filters for my Olds here and have to get friends to pick them up on trips to the U.S. or order with parts orders and figure this could be a good fix and do a better job then the cannister ? check out the link below for details.

The May issue of Street Rodder (page 88) has an article which mentions various oil filter adapters which might be of interest. The particular ones i the article were for Fords but they give names and contacts so they may have one for your car.

For another couple of bux I think the original one I'm looking at is a better deal then the Summit one, no relocation and pipes etc, I think I might need to shout the Olds one of those, can't see any reason why it wouldn't work fine and the dude has been doing them for 10+ years which I guess is a good sign.

  7. Paul,

I presume the cannister is flathead V8 style, if so why not use a lite commercial or diesel truck oil filter. I have something in mind for the Beehive oil cooler I plan to run on the pick up.

I have tried tracking down the same sized filter locally but they are all a little different, the adaptor I'm looking at is a tidy little unit and you would be doing real good to know it was there in the Olds, other uses for the engine might need to stay stock for good looks [IMG]

I am running one of these on the firewall of my A roadster ( Flathead V8) Not exactly trad looking - but it works well, is easy to change filters and I can get a replacement filter for $4 at my local.

I think once I get some other stuff squared away on my Plymouth I would like to get one of these.

hey how you doing? i have one of those oil filter adptors on my 371 olds in my 34 roadster.talked to the guy that oned the adt.and said it works just fine.i don"t have much room this unit helps out in that department.just try to keep a little bit of room between your exhaust and oil filter.
