I bought this 1942 Ford Truck cab for $250 about a month ago:

I've spent a few nights in the past week starting to strip the body with Aircraft Striper. I've got the cowl and firewall done and the majority of the rear cleaned up. Striper doesnt work that well when there are 7 different colors / layers of paint and its winter in Sacramento.

This is my first pre-50's complete buildup. If anyone has any comments / suggestions feel free to let me know. I will continue to post progress shots if anyone is interested. My plans are to chop it 4 inches, build a custom frame, run either a Ford straight 6 or the run of the mill 289, 302, 351. As I stated above this is my first build-up so if anyone has suggestions regarding frame dimensions vs. suspension set-ups and also any progress pics while chopping. Thanks

I bought the same cab about four months ago. Looking forward to seeing the pictures of the chop. I haven't stipped mine yet, but I plan on chopping it as well. I found this website for that might have patch panels availiable.
