    Interesting...........will it work though??

Looks more like a drag race inspired piece. I'd guess it won't be as efficient at lower rpm's as higher based on the straight runner design.

I'll have to give you an A++ for effort.

It'll be interesting to here how it functioned when you lite it off.

nice! longer runners give more bottom end power, like you need that with a caddy engine! hahaa!

  5. Looks cool. Did you just leave everything bolted to the engine when you welded it, or did you make some kind of jig? The fit looks nice and I'm wondering about movement as the welds cool.

i tacked all the runners onto the bolted flange and the plenum i prefabbed, then welded as much as i could on the motor let it cool and finished welding on the bench.it bolted right up no problems.i still have to finish it but im already planning on the headers.

Any updated pics on this intake?

  8. A little late for this imput but we usually try and taper the runners a bit. They seem to work better that way.

More often than not when I'm done with an intake it goes to the mill for a minimum slice off the flanges to kake it good and true but it may not be necessary at all lay a straight edge across 'em when you're done.

Looks OK to me I'm not a big tunnel ram fan for a streeter but they do look cool.

    What's wrong with this picture?
    1. IDF intended to work as IR only - no plenum, no shared manifold at all. They need a really strong vacuum signal, and that plenum pretty much eliminates that. Not really good math, but mating all 4 throats to a single cavity reduces vacuum by 75%. They'll need considerable enrichment to have decent response and power, which will completely kill mileage since they don't have a power valve/metering rod etc. cruise circuit - it's full rich all the time.
    2. the ****erflies pivot left to right, which means at anything but WOT there will be considerable mixture bias to one bank of the plenum.

I'm worried about the common plenum as well. But I guess we'll see...
