I recently became a member of the HAMB. I actually have become addicted. anyways...I had a buddy who is working on a Caddy. He has been looking for 3X2 intake for his project. He was getting out bid at outrageous prices on jokebay. (ebay) So as a pal I through out an ad on the hamb looking for what he needed. We got hooked up with a good deal from a fellow Hamber and the deal is going down good so far... Now he (my buddy) wants me to keep looking for these intakes on the HAMB. I sense he wants to push them on ebay... He may just want to collect them, but I am not sure. I hate ebay. Its good to find stuff, but its made everything untouchable to me price wise and it ****s getting the screw job.....

I sense your buddy wants to use you to traffic good deal parts so he can resell them and make a profit.Theres where I have a problem as you stated your are addicted to the hamb, this community is a buddy system in its self, don't abuse your membership to help profit your finds(not inplying you would-just suggesting you don't).There are great deals on the forsale section but the parts and cars that you buy or trade should be used to further your interest in the tradional ways of this site. Meaning not for profit, but to help you along to building and driving your hot rod. I would only buy what I need and sell what I don't need and if one of my friends needs something I would buy for them. If they want more of the same and I had an idea they where going to sell for profit, I would tell my friends the hamb means more to me then there friendship. Thanks Dave.

Nothing wrong with making a few bucks on something. Nothing wrong with helping a guy out who can't afford the piece you have.

Man though, don't advertise you want things for cheap so your buddy can profit off of it.

Sorry, sounds to me like he needs to offer a thing or two to a needy guy first as payback.

I imagine that painting your car with pastel colors would be more acceptable than begging for cheap parts only to see them the next week on eBay.

Talk about an abuser. Tell your friend to go find his own deals to sell on Ebay!

  7. I've helped afew guys here with good deals and have received the same in return...it's what this place is about. If your "buddy" wants to buy stuff here and resell it then let him do it, not you. Guys will figure him out soon enough and stop dealing with him.

I know some Nigerian guys I can hook you up with....

  9. Ask your friend outright if this is what he wants to do. If it is, tell him to pound sand.
First thing I noticed about this site when I stumbled on it....... just a bunch of car guys looking out for each other in the name of a hobby. The cl***ifieds here are the best on the internet. I've bought some nice parts at very fair prices. Everyone has been a stand-up guy (or gal) in the dealings. Good people, good parts/services, good prices.
Dont help someone **** that up.

Your buddy does not get it. It tells alot about his character and you should "read it" for what it is worth.

In other terms, would he screw you over for a buck also? Hopefully it causes you to think it over.

My favorites are the guys who buy stuff on the 'Bay for next to nothing...then they sell it here on the HAMB for a LARGE profit. Wheres the brotherhood in that?

    Help your boys out!!!

Thats not p***ing on the Gospel!!

I think I know your buddy.

His name is Richard Head, right?

Think I've dealt with that jack*** a few times on eBay myself. Your buddy is an ***hole for abusing the goodwill of this site. Stop helping him to do it.

This sounds like a complete bad idea. I'm of the frame of thought of using the barter system, which is what I feel (correct me if'n I'm wrong) is available here. Hell yeah its great to find a good deal on a part and swap it here for something you want/need, but to just offhand take advantage of a fellow HAMBr's good graces just to turn around a profit off of it? That ain't cool, and should be punished accordingly.

Why don't we all be his buddy? Give us his address and we'll stop by and drop off all the stuff we want to get rid of because we aren't computer literate enough to put them on the Bay ourselves. When we see it go for outrageous prices on the Bay, we'll remember that one can of beer we had to swap for it and how cold it was. We all want to be buddies with a guy like that.

Hey, why doesn't he let us take the photo and make the description up to save him some time and effort? Maybe we could drop ship them from our houses to the buyer to really save time.

**** him. I got a real nice grill that I couldn't use with a car I bought here. I felt uncomfortable putting it on here for sale but I knew someone could use it for what I was asking. The guy jumped in and added to the description to help me out and I could have sold 10 of them at the price or higher but the point is I DIDN'T. And I didn't go to the bay with any of them. Buddies don't DO that.

Thanks for asking, have a nice day.
