Ok, today we bought a 61 ford unibody truck with A camper shell. In the Camper was a bunch of WWII Military duffel bags full of military clothes boots etc.....Whole bunch of cool old stuff! Anyway In one bag I found this rear view mirror. It has a clock in it and says ford on the clock. Also theres V-8 symbol. Can anyone help in IDing what this is for??? Thanks!

It's something in the '32-36 Ford range! Several different faces in those years--could probably ID with a picture. I think most likely 1936, with the V8 emblem. Want to find it a new home?? I could help with that, for sur--it belongs in my roadster, not a duffel! Bruce

  3. I'm into Model A's and I know Ford offered an accessory mirror like you describe, but A's preceded the V8 era. The A mirror is widely available as a reproduction.
Yours is probably the similar Ford option for '32 to '34, and maybe later Fords.

I'm pretty sure that '32-4 or 5 was plain black with "Ford" in small script; there were actually 2 or 3 different for '36 to match different instrument faces, and I think that's what you have.

99% sure that's a '36. Will check the good book this weekend. Earlier ones had square ended mirror glass.

Thanks to all that responded! So a 36 huh? It is a sweet mirror...never seen anything like it before. Is it worth anything? just curious. The more we go through all this stuff the more cool stuff comes out. But so far thats the only car related thing weve found.. Anybody know what a baseball mit from the 20's is worth? lol

Dunno cash value, but for sure worth something to me. Let me know by PM if you want to sell, and we can try to evaluate...
Baseball mit would be a good find for that guy whose trans was popping out of second--catch that shitknob with no damage!
