"Death Trap" C'mon Really?

a HAMBer sent me this link earlier about a bunch of guys tearing my car apart, normally this sort of thing doesnt bother me but "Death Trap" i mean seriously i did make it quite clear that my car wasnt finished.

i hope i didnt over step my bounds by posting this, i just wanted to hear some opinions of some fellow HAMBers.

 

Are these guys too good and superior for the HAMB? Is this a case of them not knowing the facts before opening their pieholes? They admit the the car "is not finished" but instead of admiring your damn fine craftsmanship, they'll shit all over ya'. Put those brakes on and then offer to race em'.

 

I quit going to that site awhile back, very anti traditional hot rod.

Pay it no mind. Centerline and Henry Highrise HATE HATE HATE anything resembling a "rat rod" so to speak. I get tired of hearing them continually bash people. Pretty soon everyone jumps on the band wagon with them. I think its funny Centerline mentions he was on the HAMB when it wasn't all that long ago I remember him bashing the HAMB.

On the other hand, I agree that front brakes and a dual MC are an absolute must for me, for safety of those around. I hope you at least have some kind of handbrake.

What you do is your business, but I would prefer to follow behind you than drive in front of you.

Hey Tetanus, I wouldn't sweat anything Selfcentered and Henry Handjob had to say. I agree on 4 wheel brakes and dual masters, but those who belittle others to look big, are small in thier own minds. In other words FUCKEM.

hi guys,

i read the first three pages of your link, and most of those guys complimented your car.

driving with no front brakes (even if its just around the block ) is stupid, 60 % of your braking is in the front.

i like your car, but put your damn brakes on, the rest of us would like to not get killed by stupidity.

1) Your car looks very nice and appears to be well built
2) In my opinion, you do need to put the front brakes on. I've got all 4 brakes in working order on my 33 and at times it's hard to get her shut down quick enough.

I'm a member of Hotrodders.com as well. i never did enjoy reading any posts as many were pointless and only towards those that had a lot of money that could pay someone else to do the work. Some of the guys there are pretty good at what they do.
Not defending them in anyway, but i dont know how much i'd want to drive a car around without front brakes. Im sure after driving the car if you thought that front brakes were needed then you would have done something. A secondary brake would definly put my mind at ease.

One of the guy's over there was so infactuated with tearing a guy apart that belonged to OSR for a front mounted Moon tank that he did this.
He actualy called the local police and told them the guy's address and how unsafe the car was. The guy at OSR said the police were pretty cool about it but can you believe some asshat would go that far ?
