Sold the 55 last fall and had to do something over the winter, So.... decided to spruce up the 64 wagon I originally bought to be a tow car for the 55. Pulled the 283, glide and 308 gears and replaced with a 350 ( dual quads ) 4 speed and 355 posi, bagged the rear and flaked the top, most of the rest of the paint is original with that real nice patina.( it'll do till I decide how to paint it ) Put in a 500 steering wheel and re-worked the dash a little. Added supremes for a little custom look or a set of Hurst slicks out back and fenton 5 spokes for that mild street racer look. Gary

Then I saw Monster Flake's 60 Bel-Aire sedan for sale in the classifieds. Made the trip to St Louis and ended up bringing it home.( Monsterflake and his friends are a great bunch )
Fixed some spots in the interior added carpet , headliner, stereo and weatherstripping. Had the top re-clear'd and all the jamb's painted to match the car. It's got a real strong 235 inliner and I've been collecting all the speed parts for it. It will be my ride to the round-up this year so I'm waiting till I get back to do the motor and engine compartment, also picked-up a 4 speed to replace the cast iron glide. Gary

So, are you finally ready to race that wagon? The cars are looking great, as usual!

Runs good been doin a few laps around the section since the weather broke. Carbs need a little fine tuning, but most of all I need a new radiator. It's only a 2 row and it ain't cuttin it. Thought I'd give it a try,I'm not even sure what it's out of, but I need bigger. Gary

Josh got the 283 for his modified project, kinda hated to give it up, but went to a good cause and I think xderilict wants the glide. You can ask him. Your new project looks awesome. Gary

I've never been to Bonneville and this is the year. I can't promise any cartwheels or gimps but if you need us to stop by and twist your arm let me know.

the kool part is you could put the roadster in the back, that way you can still take the roadster with you.

The Wagon looks great. I have always loved the 60's wagons. The Supremes are the icing on the cake. Keep up the great work.

  20. WOW!! Both of those chebbys are lookin hotrod cool, I'm sure the Hi-Boy is downstairs pouting, wanting to show those "big" cars who is really the bad ass. Can't wait to hear both the wagon and the inline run, especially the six-shooter with those new headers, straight pipes only please. Nice to hear from our ST. Louis pal on the 60, I think it's hip that you guys were on the same page. Gary does it again, Roadburners Rule!!!-Sololobo

Does anybody still make those scoops you have on the dual quads on the wagon? I've always liked the looks of those. And didn't there used to be small ones for 2 barrels?I have a dual quad and a three deuce setup I'm trying to decide between for the engine in my '60 and would like to have a set of these scoops.Thanks.

Nobodys re-producing them that I know of. Those are original Cal-Custom. I had a guy make the stands for them the rear is one inch higher or they wouldn't have fit with that intake and carb set up. I have another set , little different style. Some folks call them shark mouth. Really like them alot better had them re-chromed and stands built for them also, only to find out they wouldn't fit one behind the other on this set-up. They are a little longer and slightly more narrow. Gary

OK, Thanks for the info. I'll just have to keep looking for some. Really neat cars, I like 'em both. Going to Decatur this morning for the swap meet, the wind is supposed to be gusting to like 50 mph, should be interesting.
