Hello everyone! Okay, here's the deal. I just bought a '46 Ford Coupe frame and body from a gentleman and I need to pick it up next weekend. I figured I'd check on here to see if anyone has or has access to some way of getting it to my house. I would be mighty grateful. Also, if you have any third parties than can help out, that would also be appreciated. I live in New ****ord, NJ and the car is in West ****ord, NJ which is about a 40 minute drive from each other. I can pay you in beer and food . Thank you for reading!
i live in hatboro 1how far awawy 2 can you get a trailer,i dont have one but am willing to help out if i can
Thanks again everyone. Uhaul seems to be my best bet. A friend of a friend is going to let us use his truck to tow the car on one of the Uhaul trailors. Now I need some muscle! Any of you guys or gals want to donate your time this Saturday, March 3..It would be greatly appreciated. Just private message me. Thanks!
Harbor Freight, or Walmart for that matter, should have a "Come Along" type hand winch. Typically rated a 2 tons, I use one all the time on my car trailer here to load non-powered cars and trucks. The last one I bought was around $20.
better make sure that the u-haul trailers are wide enough. they look pretty small, even the tow dollies
Yeah HellFish the tow dollies ARE narrow. 'course I had my 55 Caddy on it and bent the front fenders on the car with the trailer fenders Good thing it came with a better set inside the car.
Okay... I'll be the one to say it, but I bet I'm not the only one thinkin' it. I'll try not to be rude, too... What the ****...??? Less than 2 months on the board, a whoppin' baker's dozen in total posts (not counting this thread), not one of them car related, and you're on here asking people to "donate" to you? Not even an "I'll bring the beer" or "I'll buy lunch for ya"... just donate time out of their lives and gas out of their tank... Maybe you want your house painted and your driveway blacktopped too...? Get your hubby, a trailer and a come-along... Man, sometimes I wish I had a slit instead of a truck and a trailer with a winch on it. JOE
Hey Joe. Well, I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear enough that I AM offering food and/or beer in exchange for time. I stated that in the first post. Plus, naturally I would pay for gas and I'm sorry I didn't say that in my following posts. You are right. I am new and I have only posted approximately a dozen times. It just so happens that I lucked out, found a car, and figured since the people here have been helpful in other situations that I may as well post and ask for help. Would it make it any difference if I had posted a hundred times or a thousand times? I don't think it matters. I had a few posts and a couple of private messages from some nice folks who offered thier help in any way they could and none of it was based on how many posts I had written. I'm NEW to this board. I am still testing the waters and am pretty new to the message board thing itself. So, could someone let me know how many posts I have to make before i can ask for help? Thanks to everyone who had some input.
Check out the U-Haul horror stories - they don't honor their reservations sometimes. Be sure to check on alternative rental places, and go to the actual place you will rent it from and talk to the manager (not the flunky who will be there on Saturday when you go to pick it up). Nothing worse than having the crew but not the equipment to do the job.
Sorry... You're right. I read too quickly and missed the offer of repayment. I retract my comment whole-heartedly. JOE
