Been lurking for a short while so thought it was time to introduce myself. Got into rods and customs as a kid while living in South Africa in the late 60s. A mate's brother gave me some copies of Hot Rod magazine and I was hooked. Came back to England in '71 and lost the plot for a while. Rediscovered rods through Custom Car magazine in '76. Saw a rodded Pop (aka '48 Anglia) in the carpark of my parents pub the same year and decided that was what I wanted. Finally bought one in '83, the very same car I'd seen. Still own it now. Had a few mild customs in that time too, all English based tin though. Gathering parts to build a cheapo 23-T rat rod, hope to get started on it late summer...
Not too far from me. I'm between Highbridge and Mark. Trying to rebuild a knackered F1 Pickup. I'll get it done one day. I did have a 59 Consul that failed the MOT and I was hoping to put the running gear in one of Pop Browns Bobtails, seemed like a good way to make a cheap Rod but.....................SVA. What a lot of ******** that is, so ended up flogging the car to a local guy who needed it for spares.
Damm...the Limeys are taking over Welcome Richie, I'm a transplanted Brit! Got any pictures of your project? We like pic's
Hi Dave & Hellz, thanks for the welcome, bit slow in repsonding as been busy with work. Will try and post a picture of my jalopy on here. Hellz, you're not too far from a buddy of mine in Berrow, he has a bright yellow '72 Vette.

Welcome, love your car. I lived near Ipswitch (?) from about 1966 to 1970. My dad was in the U.S air force stationed at Ben****ers and Woodbridge. A guy he worked with gave him a pop because he couldn't get it to run. Dad put points in and sold it back to him the next day for $35. I didn't even get a ride in it. John
