While digging for some other pictures I ran across these from awhile back. This is the Johnson Shipley car circa late 1950's?. Chaz, next time you are in town lets get you some time to crawl around this thing and get some ideas for your tank

Is that a '63 Ford Ranchero in the back there?
The third pis had a '62 GMC in the background.
I'd say eary '60 was the time frame.

S****s your right, the pics I have are ****tered over the late 50's up to 64.

I scrounged up a few of the details-

Salt Flat Lakester #48B was originally built in 1955. Purposely built
by Ted Worbief of Car Craft Machine for Roy Fjastad, to take the "B" cl***
record from racing legend Tom Beatty. Compe***ive throughout the late 1950's,

in August 1963 it set the "B" cl*** Lakester record on Alcohol/Nitro Methane at 255.501 mph,

in 1964 it went on to set the "A" cl*** Lakester record at 263.350mph.

Equipped with the original 2 port Hilborn fuel injection, 671 Supercharged, Chrysler Hemi, a vintage Gilmor In and Out Box, Quick Change rear differential housing holds the original metal lined rear brakes, custom front tube axle, steering box and hairpins, the tires are rear 820x18 Firestones and front 6.5x15 US Royal.

    Periodical pictorials include:

15th Annual Bonneville National Speed Trials p11

16th Annual Bonneville National Speed Trials p16

Hot Rod Part Illustrated 12/64 p20

    Street Rodder 12/95 p19

    Rod & Custom 1/96 p16
