this van was built like this in 1928 and is original the only part that hes been changed is the timber behind front seat probably to stiffen up the body
Do you think the engine was replaced at some time due to the changing of the number? And it's odd that they recorded the wheel color, but not the body color. BTW, the more pics of your new ride I see, the more I like it.
Two questions: Right hand drive? And; did you already start modifying it? Don't recall "A's" coming with DISK BRAKES! (reply #18) Might be fun to dis***emble ALL the woodwork and make patterns; I'd buy a set!
barn find and it is made from a barn too don't modify the bod add cage wire and be a dog catcher or paddy wagon ... sell pies or wild animals... rooos paperdog
nobod if you look carefully at the papers bottom lower right you will see an engine alteration stamp dated 17 7 1944 dont know what t.m.h stands for
yes its rhd and i have not started to modify it .i dont want to change too much just lower the roofline a little iwill save as much of the timberwork as i can looking for ideas from other hambers
nice looking. i like deliveries, panels, things like that. i guess i was way off when i built mine. not even close!

Which part of Collingwood? Haven't seen the van before...weird! Might have seen my old thing putting around Colling'hood. Welcome. Maiki.
Great find. There is still a lot more tin out there, glad you have got a****est it. Did you see this one on eBay down here.
Can't say iv'e spotted you either: double weird? i'm at the Paris-end of Campbell st, not too far down from the Tote. Thanks for the welcome. DD.
the delivery chicken coup is now completely pulled apart . the patterns are good and i believe i can save 60% of it .thi timber has survived better than the steel {in some cases} its a real simple design to build not too many curves anyone with a roadster or tourer cowl and doors could build this real cheap which is what i intend to do ok i am a carpenter but this is not a woody its a pickup with a roof .iwill be taking some shots of the frame etc and will buy a digital camera to do this i hope i can help others with this (budget brookwood beater)
this is a picture of the original owner of this dielivery. his name is george sansom (tall man next to horse) it is the only photo i have . found it through a historical society here in victoria circa 1910 to 1920 not really sure. he owned a general store in a small town called gisborne .it was used for general deliveries around the district. having pulled apart the body it has seen a lot of work.i have spoken to the great grandaughter of george and she recalls a photo of the van its.life as a commercial stopped in 1953 and was left on the family property for 19 years .local children used to play in it .was then bought by another person and finally to a retired gentle man who stored it dry for 35 years who i bought it off . he was going to restore it but time caught up with him and he new i was a carpenter and could fix it.its kind of spooky when you pull a car apart its history beckens.any rodders in gisborne victoria who knows where there is an original photo of this van this would help me enormously in its (resurection ) and would give other hambers an insight into the life of an early model a ford .thanks in advance dave
sorry to take so long to reply nobod but the rugby is called a star in youre country it was called rugby in commonwealth countries my other brother has found a 1923 durant barnfind which has been on the property for 68 years the old man who worked on this car lived to the age of 96 still working on the car (something to be said about thiis) he wrapped everything in grease and parts as good as new the brother will get it going for his two sons and leave it original but has almost another car and is willing to trade parts
