I figured I would put both of these questions on one post even though they are not related to eachother. 1. Has anyone used the Hot Rod Flat(z) Paint? If so, is it any good? 2. A friend has offered me a mid 40s dodge p/u body for free but I don't know if i am motivated enough to start another project. I want to see some picks of your 30s to 40s trucks so I can get an idea of what I cvan do with it. So please post some if you have any
1) There was a very recent post where a HAMBer was very dissatisfied with the Hot Rod Flatz ... until he figred out he had a problem with his equipment and made a new thread saying "I Eat Crow..." 2) I love old pickups, and Dodge don't get the love that Fords and Chebbies get. I say if it is free and in decent shape, jump on it.
I haven't used the paint but there was a post about it not too long ago. Maybe a quick search? And if someone was going to give me a body I'd tell them to take a hike wouldn't matter what it was.
the free part is great. I just don't know how hard it will be to find body parts etc. I was thinking to just put it on a ford or chevy frame and go that route. good idea or shitty idea? I know a lot of people would say "keep it original" but that is sometimes more work than it is worth.
Some one I thought said that paint is just the left overs from omni which is partnered with ppg and being relabeled by hotrod flatz???
If it were free, I'd say take it and run. Build it how you want it, and if anyone has a problem with it, tell'em what you gave for it. Betcha nobody's got a problem after that! Run whatcha brung, build whatcha got, beat the hell outta it and give a tin shit what anyone else thinks! Have a blast!
