    Dude,
You messed up by saying "RAT" in your post. These guys are frightened by the mention of that word. You should have said TRADITIONAL or something to that effect. Go to www.killbillet.com and mention RAT. Later.

Man, first you use the word Rat to describe a car and then you post a pic of a fiberglass car. You're on the wrong forum!

you know what, I just realized that I was jumping on the band wagon of a thread which is turning out to be a bash on the guy's ride... didn't want to do that, just thought posting a picture of a rat in a bucket would be funny. Crestline.... regardless of the name or material your body is made out of, it looks like you're gonna have a nice ride... I mean, you're building it on a chasis table and have the frame all painted up and clean, dude, have fun with it, and enjoy it once your done... just watch your choice of words next time and dont lower the quality of your own work with a sub-standard and trendy title... cheers

Hey Zombo, Question 4 ya? What do you mean guys here are frightened by that word. The word is more or less a generalization of a sector of this hobby and really erks most people when there "period correct" and/or "trditional rod " is put down by the term RAT

I always thought a rat rod was a hot rod with a big-block Chevy for power.

don't let anyone give you grief about glass bodied cars as "non-traditional"I've got pics here dated 59-60 of the T bucket my brother-in-law built then with an Anderson Industries T body!these are B&W pics dated by the developer at processing not by someone after the fact

  14. Look closely at the rear of the car, on the floor, on top of the white box - looks like a 5 pound brown rat to me!

Fiberglass cars can definitely be built in a "traditional" looking manner. The beginnings of the project above don't appear to be going in a "traditional" direction. Unless I'm not seeing something there, it's definitely going the rat rod route. If that's what the dude wants - more power to him - but it would still be the wrong forum for it.

I hope he proves me wrong.

But I agree that the "rat" term, it should be used to describe a mish-mash car with no historical styling cues, not a traditional one.

Why do you guys do this over and over again. Take your traditional, rat or whatever you call it and cram it. Traditionally guys built hot rod to go as fast as they could with whatever amount of money they had. You guys that get pissed off about labeling prolly hang out with the trailer queens or the idiots that pay more for a 6 carb manifold than a blower. Everybody builds their stuff the way they want it whether its becasue of money or taste and NOONE has the right to diss on somebodie elses ride. Build that rat bucket and call it whatever you want to call it screw the allmighties (or whatever their called) around here.

  26. Psssttt....guess what? Nobody is serious - it's only some lighthearted ribbing that goes around meant in a good spirit. I doubt anyone is really bent - in fact I'm sure anyone here would gladly help the guy change a flat tire in the rain & buy him a beer afterwords. It's kinda like a big brother teasing the little brother, that's all.:D

  27. Well, might as well do it.......

I've seen a few cars on here that go over the "Traditional" line.

    But their well done.

Seriously though, most late-30's vehicles were never all that radically modified in the day. Trucks especially...they were still pulling farm duty....

    ah well...who cares?
