yeah, for the most part I like it. I'm 20 minutes from Philly, 45 from Atlantic City and the beach, and 1 and a half from NYC, 45 from Baltimore, you get the picture. I've got an acre and a half in a quiet town but when I want to go to the hustle and bustle it's not too far away.

I bought my ****py little tract home in Simi Valley, CA back in 1972, I have a zilliion dollars equity in it now, my monthly "nut" is pretty low and the weather ain't too bad. I have to agree with RatBone....we have it pretty good around here.

Flower drives the roadster all year 'round, that's hard to do in alot of places. I think I'd miss that aspect of it the most if we ever moved. My only wish is that I could build a nice shop out back for when I retire in a couple of years......and I just might do that.

FYI: I'm a displaced [26 yrs]chicagoan on the gulf coast of Tejas ['tween h-town & galv], love it but for a few things:

    1. really is ****in' hot/humid in the summer[late april to early oct -ish] I know, shut up.
2.cost of living and peolpe/sq inch is getting quite high.
3.worrying 'bout all yer stuff submarine-ing and running from hurricanes is a pain.

............. actually, might need to relocate due to health reasons [wife and I both]. Hope 'ole rick's site can give some help.

  5. I hate it here... everyone stay away.
There's no deer in the woods and no fish in the lakes and you never see a million stars all at once... the peace and quiet is aweful and the clean air will just about make you puke. It ****s only having 2 or 3 cars go past my house everyday and the low crime rate makes it pretty boring. Not having a single red-yellow-green traffic signal in the whole county leads me to believe we're all in danger.

Nope... it TOTALLY ****S and you should NEVER come here... ever.

  6. Its funny,i left ft lauderdale 5 years ago and im about to go back shortly i hope, south carolina ****s,you pay property tax, state tax,the pay is low even though they tell you the cost of living is lower than other places, compared to florida it is higher,if you want nice back roads to drive on and a slow life style and barely getting by,this is the place but if you want to have a future where you can move up financially and accomplish great things its not,i use to hate south fl until i came here and realized that the gr*** is not always greener on the other side.

Mark me down as another one who loves living in Texas. Sure, it can get a little hot on the garage in the summers... unless you've got a little redneck engineering goin' on...

You wouldn't believe how well this A/C works to cool the garage.

No, Northern Illinois weather stinks and the garage is too small.

If you are thinking of the west and like machine guns
and destructive devices, stay away from Calif and Wash.
    Oregon and Nevada are good.
Both Oregon and Nevada have very good racing of all types. The climate is downright tolerable also.(At least for me)

I have to say I live in Sask, Canada and love it. I just get to go about my thing and not worry about nazis or anything. Sure the NDP could get the **** out but what are you going to do. Not a big car scene but I like it like that. Rather not have to deal with the cuffed pant, greasy hair people anyway, I hate culture. Weather ****s but the garage is warm. Living is cheap and the pay is good and the city is nice.

I live in Southwest Virginia and it is a great place for relaxation. We have all four seasons, beautiful forests, good schools, and a few guys who like to wrench on there on rides. We even have little meets once a week, during the warmer parts of the year, where we cruise in and just talk cars, parts, and whatever. Alright, I guess.
