Lame or not I'm having fun with mine. Started with $500 39 Ford PU. Cut the roof off & laid the windshield back. Pasted in a narrowed 56 Chevy dash. Extended cab 5" behind doors & shortened bed 11". Let my grandson pick out the paintjob.

That's slick. I was leaning towards the "Shop Truck" fenderless look though. Thanks, looks like fun.

I seriously consider doing that with mine. Hell, may wind up going there anyway if I don't get my roof done. I first saw the idea where an artist's concept was in the back of Custom Classic Trucks last year. They took a '40 Ford cab and put a small spoiler where the windshield would go and sectioned about 10 inches out of the cab to get it nice and low. The nose was faired in where the fenders left tear drop openings and the rear axle was sucked up behind the cab, modified style. The whole package gave a slick, salt flats vibe that was way cool. The driver had a very short roll bar hoop to protect his head and seating was low enough to get him behind the spoiler. i am headed that way, but truck style, with a roof. So far so good.
