Welcome aboard. I also have a soft spot for Chevelles. The car I learned to drive in, and shift, was my boyfriends '70 Chevelle ragtop. About the color blue of SmokinJoes with a white top. Boy did I love cruzn that thing around. Even drove it to my first day of driver's ed classes. The instructor freaked out telling me I couldn't drive it yet cuz I didn't have my permit........ya right Anyway, welcome aboard
[ QUOTE ] The Moral of the story is your a fucking mullethead with NO intrest in HOT RODS AND TRADITIONAL CUSTOMS. GET OF THE BOARD! [/ QUOTE ] And you're a dick with a slow ill handling bike. Take a step back and look at yourself. Sporty's and S10's . POT, KETTLE, BLACK...
And a nancy boy harley like a sportster has what to do with the HAMB? Point being, the HAMB is not about muscle cars, chevelles, or VWs... It's about traditional hot rods and kustoms. We all understand that. Do I like posts about chevelles? No, I don't... I let this one go, cuz it wasn't hurting anyone and the object of it was to turn an old childhood friend on to hot rods. If anyone has a problem with that... well... they can kiss my ass.
Oh yeah and welcome to you jheller. I started out in an A-body as well. A '69 Pontiac LeMans. Now all I can think is what that motor would have been like in an old coupe or roadster. Oh by the way, we had put a Ram Air IV from a wrecked GTO in to replace the tired 350. Damn I wish I still had that car...
[ QUOTE ] GET OF THE BOARD! [/ QUOTE ] What exactly does that mean? If you have the time to type in all caps then proof read too.
I'd take ANY Chevelle, any year--even a four-door--before I'd claim ownership to a Sportster. Matter of fact, a '66-67 Chevelle Malibu SS, black vinyl top, purple suede, Astros, etc. sounds pretty tempting right about now...
I'm not sure why Fastsporty is so cranky today, cause he's spent plenty of time with me working on my '67. AND for the record he is building a MODEL A PICKUP and is also currently rebuilding 3 flattys. That still qualifies right? Thanks for the kind words on my Chevelle. This was the PERFECT opportunity to show it off! Chevelles are better than VWs.
Fassporty, You forgot the Volvos.... and the weddings, child births, divorces, evictions, robberies, deaths, anything by Marcus or germ , new homes, old homes, remodeled homes, 50's furniture, "hotrod" furniture, Friday ART, and stupid "B" movies threads. Whatsamatter, did Hellbound go home without giving you a hug? We talk pleanty about '64 Rivieras, so what's wrong with an occasional '64 Elky?
Who cares EVERY FAGGOT is BUILDING a MODEL "A",,,, it's the COOL thing NOW, But I still aint ROLLING no SPORTSTER, and TRYING to say it's FAST,, Give the KID a BREAK,,, ask JESUS with your HEART, "IS MY SPORTSTER really that FAST?""" or WAIT are you one of those SPORT TRUCK FAGS?????? XOXOXOXO GERM AKA... "THE SALINAS PENIS"
Hell, I had a 69 GTO Judge in High School and a buddy of mine had a 70 Chevelle SS that was a 11 second street car that looked like a nice restoration....all these are kool cars...if I ever won the big lotto once I got done doing all the 32 and A crap I want I would maybe look into another 69 Judge (and 68 Bullitt clone).
[ QUOTE ] Give the KID a BREAK,,, ask JESUS with your HEART, [/ QUOTE ] GERM........what the fuck has happened to you? You just get out of rehab?? You're scaring me........
One last thing... I'm flattered you guys STILL remember my S10 Joke post after the original owner of this S10 tried to join. And Fastsporty didn't even have anything to do with it and he still gets associated with it cause that was his first post. That cracks me up. S10 joke intro
So,,, You Sportster, Honda and SUV owners gonna rag on him because he tried to rebuild a Chevelle, or help him along the path to what trad rods & doing it yourself are about? I give him an A for trying to do a car by himself and wanting to learn..
Welcome to the Hamb. I basically did the same thing to my 73 roadrunner. It sucks trying to figure out what goes where. later plmczy
Dig those matching Chevelles, redlines look wayyyyyy better than blackwalls. Welcome Jheller, kick up your feet and be prepared to learn a whole lot about some kickass stuff. Greg

[/ QUOTE ] well said. i joined the board somewhere around 4 years ago with (drum roll please) a 1974 plymouth duster and a two late 70's vw busses making up my entire motorpool. Ryan tried to turn me on to this cult, and it worked. i get so sick of this holier than thou shit that seems to rear its head on here daily. you jokers that seem to have nothing better to do than flame new people, or those with interests that differ from what you view as the gospel make this board a shitty place to be sometimes. we're growing to about 4500 members now... and here's a news flash, they're not all going to be like you, or uphold your sickboy image of what a hot rodder should be. deal with it. maybe it's you who needs to go??? i, for one, won't miss you. oh and welcome new guy. now, if you'll excuse me... i must go; american idol is on.
[ QUOTE ] now, if you'll excuse me... i must go; american idol is on. [/ QUOTE ] Hahahaha, now it takes a real man to say that! Not everybody started into cars right away with tradtional rides. I started with an Elky, it was all I could afford, fun, no smog, and I could still take it to cruise nights. At least it's older American steel and not a plactic Japanesse box.
like a flare-gun to false the heatseakers... a big wooden spoon to stir the pot... I SHO DO LOVES ALL MY HONDAS!!! (only one has 4 wheels) and, I had a DOPE '71 Malibu, the shiniest car I've ever owned. pix someday. ### The Burndup manifesto: All true "car people" belong on the hamb, we know that the "traditional hardware" is the zenith, but we all have diverse interests... and budgets. fast=good. louder and faster = better. ### Don't agree? http://www.rockabillydating.com will gladly welcome you back. (insert whale-song soundclip here.)
jheller.... There is a lot of knowledge on here on the HAMB if you are interested in learning something... I'm sorry for my aggresive post this morning.... I was a little confused in that in your intro, no where did you say you had a intrest in what we do here RYAN'S GARAGE (tm)..... You see, what you may not realize, is if you did not get Ryans approval, All of your warm welcomes might have turned into cold hearted flaming of a newbie.... But alas, maybe not... The HAMB is a kinder gentler place now..... Even GERM (tm) stood in your defense.... Someday you may know what a honor that was.... Maybe TLC should call on us again because we are no longer the "WE ARE FUCKING HOODLUMS" we once were..... I'm again sorry I over reacted this morning when all I saw were Chevelles and VDUBS... On the HAMB.... The home or Hot Rods and Traditional Customs... I thought I was on the wrong board.... JH.... I'm sorry... Welcome to the HAMB.... Lean up against Ryans coupe and stay awhile... FS
My first car was a 70 ss. Tore it apart, luckily got it all back ta gether. Still have it, helps cure the old car jones while I am on the long road ta building a deuce coupe.
Welcome to the HAMB...With a name like Heller I would have called myself HellerHighWater. What can I say I'm a little left of normal and a little right of insane I don't care if you like Chevelles or Elky's....Who thinks their Sporty is fast or the other BS that is not "traditional" on here. I come for the entertainment, education (I've learned alot here) and the comraderie (sp?). But.....I do have to know one thing about you....are you that mother*%#@#& heller dude that always outbids me on stuff on Ebay? If so... at least it feels better that a HAMB'r is gettin' some cool stuff. I personally think that early Elky's when done up look great. Astro Supremes, thin whites and a 'flaked roof are what I'm thinking! And as a side note: A sporty can be fast (had one). But after riding a Ducati monster gave up on going the Harley route for speed and HANDLING! I now run a fat FLH shovel with tank shift and apehangers...no speed, terrible handling and a mile high in the fun factor!
