well i just pulled the bumper guards off the front of my 53 and damm it if it wasnt a three piece bumper

love the way it looks with out the guards but hate the three piece lines

anybody know what i can do --- i seen lots of 53's out there with one piece bumpers is everyone welding em up and if so how do you get it smooth for a rechrome job

or is there some other cars out there i can get a one piece bumper off of that will look as good as the original but without the lines of a three piece and match up with my splash apron

im on a buget so i dont wanna drop a whole lotta cash for the kool looks

    any ideas

ive enclosed a few before and after shots

    from hell

ive welded a few up and then just ground them close and then used a little 90* grinder with the sand paper and got it close.

but look for a 53 150 series bumper, i know where there is one but im waiting for a few people i know to go with me cuz its a few hours away and its fucking freezing out now, so i wanna wait till it warms up.

Early 50's chevys came with 1 pc and 3 pc bumpers, Canadian and California cars usually have the 1 piece.

These guys have em, I thing they are affiliated with Chevs of the 40s...

Not Positive but I think some pontiacs are one piece.

  12. I believe that the Bumber factory was located in CA. Thats why all CA Chevy's have one piece bumbers. It was too expencive to ship them so they made 3-piece for the rest of the world.
