I know Wescott probably has at $50,000,000... but there are some people advertising a 32 5W on ebay and other places...claim to be the past owners of Heritage(?)...and I know nothing about this...anyone got some good references? I know Bebops has a good 3W, but not a 5W yet...thanks..
Deuce Customs in Australia make a good one - has steel inner structure, etc. Send these guys an email to find out who is selling them in the US. dcustoms@bigpond.net.au They used to be available in the US through GMT in Los Angeles, but not sure if that is still the case as he has moved back home to NZ.
I am here in Bakersfield, and I know Squeek Bell (Kiwi Konnection) has had a few of those (the Australian bodies) in stock. Last one I saw...a month or two ago...was a chopped five window with a channeled floor, but my guess is the floor is an option. I am going to see him tonight (Thusday), so I will inquire and post an update.
From what I have heard, New Age Motorsports from here in CT. makes a pretty good unit. http://www.newage-motorsports.com/
but does anyone have "experience" with these guys...I went to look at a 3W project yesterday, and I wouldn't have given $50 for the body...roof warped, doors didn't fit, on and on....
Tootallrodder is right. New age Motorsports makes a great 5 window body. It is Flatlanders old mold which they have improved on. I bought one of their 3 window bodies and I am very happy with the quality and the price.
For a five window Downs does a good one. We have sold a few. For a three window BeBops does a great one . First cl*** fit and finish. We have sold alot of those , and I have several buddies driving them still.
I'm suprised Bebops is getting some good reviews. Mybe 5 years ago or more their stuff really ****ed. It was full of air bubbles. Clark
I agree with this one, the body that Squeek offers I have seen and is thick, tough and very nice and will not kill the bank. Skip
I have seen the Deuce Customs bodies and they are nice. They need to be able to meet some pretty strict regulations to be used in new builds in Aussie, so are very well engineered with full seat belt mounts, etc. Check them out at www.deucecustoms.com.au
Talk to Groucho...I believe he said his 'gl*** body was from Aussie..... Looks nice from what I've seen in his pics......chopped and channelled.
http://www.seattlestreetrods.com/body_ford32.htm This is a good list of Fibergl*** 32 Ford body manufacturers ... Take your pick ...
The Newage body has some detail such as real drip rails, working windshield frame, cowl vent, etc that makes it look very realistic.
highly highly recommend Downs body www.downsmfg.com my dad has one. top quality. The ONLY thing New Age has over them is the rain gutter (drip edge whatever) along sides of the roof. But you'd pay a ton more money for that.
Just a quick question on newage weren't they in some trouble in the recent past? If not I'll delete this reply, but I think they were.
http://www.newage-motorsports.com/ Here is New Age's website. The body looks nice but I've never seen one. I had Kilborn that was really nice. They quite building them soon after I bought mine for some reason.
Friend of mine in New Hampshire just took delivery of a New Age 5 window in January. Overall, he is pleased with the fit/finish. The drip rails and working cowl vent are nice features. Tom...
yes, the best detailed gl*** body ive seen... it includes drip rails, decent reveals, and cowl vent. http://kiwikonnection.com/
Ramjet, Where are you located? I'm in Shelby and have a New Age 5 window body. You're welcome to take a look at it. PM me if you want to see it.
Kilbourne has started to build 5 windows again, (due to popular demand). I just talked to Doug at Kilbourne a couple of weeks ago!
His channeled bodies are sweet too, My buddy is a dealer for Doug. http://www.maberry-hotrod-connection.com/1932-Ford-Bodies-Frames-Parts Sorry for the spam!!!!
I heard Kilbourne had a fire and the 5w mold was damaged... Talked to them about a year ago and they were working on getting the 5w back in production... sounds like they accomplished that. The also offered a louvered decklid which was sorta unique for fibergl***. Heard that mold was destroyed too...Anyhow, I haven't spoken with anyone there in a year, but my roadster is a Kilborne and I couldn't be happier with the quality. They have as much steel inner structure (or more) than any of them, including some much higher priced companies.
