sure, most GM manuals from the mid 50s to the 80s or so. Just get a 65-up non-Chevy bellhousing. The tricky part is the flywheel.
BOP bellhousing bolts to it. The flywheels are pricey and ya wanna make real sure the rest of the driveline is strong enough to hold it.They make more torque than a BBC motor. Puttin one in my 55 when I can gather the parts .Good luck
the crank most likely isn't drilled for a pilot bushing, so you would need that machined in there. Not that big of a deal, if he motor is apart.
I have ran a Chevy NV 4500 5 speed manual behind a big block caddy in a 94 1 ton 4X4 truck... it would spin all four tires when the clutch was side stepped.I can email pics of the adapter ,the special flywheel and the crankshaft to input shaft bearing(which doesnt require any special machining ) Mike who owns Schraders speed and style put a T56 6 speed behind a big block caddy ,Basically whatever GM tranny you want behind the motor you can have. I forgot to add that I have hanging on the wall in my shop a factory produced BOP bellhousing that has passenger side starter and GM tranny bolt pattern. Tim
