I know that the two doors are in demand... but what about the fourdoors? Anyone have any pictures of one? Thanks!!
Like 32 Fords, 33 - 34 Fords and others ... the MorDors have been cannibalized for parts ... not a lot of 4 doors left ...
Ive never seen a real two door sedan willys. I have seen several fordoors made into two doors. I was under the impression they didnt make two door sedans. Of course Ive been wrong more than a few times.
There's a very low-profile guy up here in extreme NorCal, that has a fleet of all steel Willys Coupes, Sedans, and even a Panel (which I never knew they made back in '40-'41) This is but one of his many Sedans
From the little bit that I know I think they were ALL 4 doors and Willys welded the back one to make a 2 door right at the factory??
All sedans were 4 doors. The factory would weld the back door shut to make 2 doors. It was cheaper then making molds for a two door model. We found out about it after we bought a 1941 two door sedan for racing. We were striping it out when we came across the back doors being welded shut. We thought we had a four door that someone welded the back doors shut. After checking on how that happen we found out that they were all four doors and the factory welded the door shut.
33-36 sedans were all factory 4drs 37/ 40 offered a 2 dr but was only a welded shut 4dr and 41-42 were only 4drs. Here is a pic of mine. The yellow one belongs to a guy near St Joe , MO . It is set up much like mine. There is also a 41 4dr g***er on the cl***ifieds. These are actually more rare than a coupe, as stated above they were scabbed for parts and trashed over the years, very few remain today.

Back in the early sixties, one of the drag magazines had an article on how to build a Willys g***er out of a '41 sedan and a vette motor. The car was a success and set records and I think won Indy one year. It was the Russo & Santo car in the photos. That article probably got a number of lower bucked/ and cl***ed g***ers built from lowly sedans. Dan

Sorry guys but Willys did build 2 door sedans. They did not weld the back doors shut. I have an original 38 2 door in my possession. They have no inner frame for a door and the rear window set up is completely different. I can post pictures if someone needs to see them. I believe this has been discussed in previous threads.
Go in our club has a 2 door sedan,we moved the body recently and it doesn't appear to ever been a 4 door. HRP
Not a real clear picture but what you are seeing is the inside of the outer skin. It is one piece. There is a wooden frame that bolts around the window opening that holds the window and regulator.
Go with that moredoor ! Check out large rod shows and you will see many of them. When the family started coming along on tours, the moredoors were a natural. Your body style, with that bustle, is unique and cool. Besides, who gives a **** what the guy parked next to you thinks. I came home from the hospital in 1947 in a '37 Ford flatback 4-door, and have one now. Go for it, Bud.
M.E. G***er has it right...the factory 2 door (38's & 39's) had just a door skin, and it was leaded in, had no hole for the rear door handle, and the most telling clue to a real factory 2-door was the inside (back door) window moulding was removable, like the coupe doors. All factory 4-doors had moulded into the door, mouldings that were not removable...so if it doesn't have a removable moulding it was not an original factory 2-door. Had 2 of them. One more thing also...the window unit was put in from the inside...those of you who have put in the back door gl*** on a 4-door sedan know that it goes up through a slot in the bottom of the back door curve. F that door doesn't open, its got to go in from the inside There were some very nice 4 doors made in to 2-doors however, as Willys did not make a lot of the 2 door models. (forgot one more minor detail) the p***enger side of the front seat folded completely forward so you could get in the back seat...remember...look for those removable window mouldings!!!
Not trying to high-jack this thread. But been looking for some info on a '41 four door that I owned for a short while in the early '80's. Was built as a gas cl*** car but never finished. I sold it to a guy in southern Maryland. In about '83. He already had a '41 four door street rod. Yellow with a small block. Sorry about the bad picture. It's a picture of a picture.
