Well, it generally ****ed. Cold outside and many empty spaces inside. But OK for me as it was only 15 miles from home. I chatted with Stan, a HAMBer from Bethlehem for awhile and checked out his stainless stash. He has some great stuff, but nothing I needed, so I moved on. I did not find any hard parts this year, but got an unexpected bonus for my car magazine collection. On the way out I stopped by a vendor I see at many meets who always has old magazines for sale. I picked up a May 1956 Car Craft (pocket size) which I don't remember ever seeing before. I also grabbed a copy of what I though was an American Rodder from 1985. It had a nice cover shot of Dave Cayer's track roadster. I didn't even open it to see what else was inside. It actually turned out to be Vol 1, No 2 of Rodders World, a pre-sursor or companion(?) to American Rodder, but without the girls. When I got home, I discovered it had an article on Richard Glymph's 1954 Bel Air, one my all-time favorite customs. I have tried to find all the magazines which featured this car and thought I had them all. Maybe now I do...
Dave, You forgot to mention the snow. 'Pretty discouraging cruising there from NJ thru the snow squalls. If the weather had been like yesterday I would driven out in one of my rods, but today's weather in the very low 30's and no heat in either of the cars = Toyota truck, heat, and cruise control. Hey, last week I cruised out to Leesport, and it was even colder.... Anyway, only picked up a few small items. Not much else to do until the weather warms. Dave
I agree, ****ed... seemed like many empty spaces in & outside inside. Hopefully, Maple Grove on 3/17 will be better.
Would any of you Hambers want to meet up at Maple Grove's swap meet , just to put faces on the posts. Something like 10:00 at the gas pumps. Let me know and I'll post it mid week (13-14th)before the meet. Have fun,Smokey
noboD, Alot of drag stuff. Some 60's stuff like tachs, wheels, valve covers, etc. The main pit area is about 3/4 full if the weather is OK. It starts early and the line to get in is slow. It's one of those deals that if I don't go one of my drag buddies will later say"Did ya see that guy with all of the old **** that you like?" Smokey
I'm sick of winter!! If it warms up I'd lke to go. 3/4 of the pits sounds like a lot of stuff. Thanks for the reply.
To many Pickers at the Grove buying up the good stuff to put on Ebay ..But I'll still be their trying to buy some parts for my cars .. LS7GTO What are you taking to sell ?Any 60'70's GM A-body stuff?
