I was in the newstand over the weekend, flipping pages. Don't remember what magazine it was, there was a '47? chevy that had a split rear window ala '63 'vette. I thought it looked really nice but I hoped to see better pictures.
Also, another of the mags had an article on the Posie's Driven Dirty Tour. Take a look at their Fleetliner, see more pics on this link, http://www.posiesrodsandcustoms.com/category/posies-fleetliner/

I've seen the Chevy you speak of, although I think it's a 49. Dark green metalic and silver two tone. I've got a couple pictures I took of it at the Turkey Run in Daytona last year. I'll post em tomorrow if I can find them on my old computer.

It's a 49 chevy fast back and if you look in some of the new mags out theres a write up on it.I don't have the mag here its at work and I'm not sure which one it is.Also it's by one of the bigname builders but like i said I only took a glance through the book so far so info is sketchy right now

Yeah its definatly NOT a 49 fastback. Look at the rear window it doesnt have the "dog leg" . I saw this car up close at SEMA this year and it is in fact the 46-48 style.

    It looks ... special!?

I think it gets the Vw look when seen from the front because som inches has been removed from the length of the body!

Posies built it for SEMA and the Driven Dirty Tour last year. Narrowed the Chevy body. Roush EFI 300 six-cylinder. Saw it in person at SEMA - nice worksmanship and some cool ideas, but overall aesthetics just didn't appeal to me.

The really funny part is he couldn't drive it on the "Driven Dirty"--it rode on a trailer unfinished. Apparently the other guys on the tour gave him a really hard time about it.
Both the cars Dodgedartgt mentioned are in the newest issue of Street Rodder.

Wether you like the style or not ya gotta appreciate Posie's ablility to not only "think outside of the box" but to build em. I admire anyone that has the balls to invest this much time, energy and money in a car the pushes the envelope this hard.

We are not talking about the car in the above picture when calling it a 49. We are talking about the car he describes in the text of his post and asks for pictures of.

    twochops,

I'm sure that's the one we're not talking about. Your pics are basically the same as the ones that I was gonna post so I'll just skip it.

... and the headlights ... and the side view mirrors ... and where's the split windshield?! Ahh nevermind, this is not as cool as it looks from behind and a distance. Sounds like a girl I once dated.

Haha - "fartback". Guess that was a Freudian slip. I should proofread my own **** before I submit the reply.
