In March 07 street rodder magazine there is an ad by rodparts warehouse for a complete M2 IFS with tube A arms for $1299. Is this front end any good anyone used it?
When i did my 34 i bought one from JPL i think it was on the east coast. Great price and good ****. How about calling rodparts and askin em? If you dont know exactly what your looking for as far as good stuff tell us what our doing and im sure someone here would call for you.. I would. Dave
Ive heard nothing but bad about rodparts warehouse. Search the forum on streetrodding.com there was quite a discussion on there.
I have a 34 Chrysler sedan, it's frame has a coil spring independant on it stock. The problem is that the front crossmember is a couple pieces of sheet metal that were formed for strength and either the rough roads or ditches have taken their toll on it. The crossmember has many cracks, some were badly repaired years ago. I am at the point where I feel I need to make a new frame and decide to go IFS or straight axle. I want to run the car fenderless, the body will be channeled 6 inches. I really like the look of straight axle cars, but am worried about handling. IFS and R&P steering will make the car handle well, but don't have the same look. I also want to shop for a good deal on suspension either way I decide to go. Does that help?
ive found with mail order its best to get the ones that speak english...that way they know what you want for dinner!!!!!!!
Both my boss and I have done biz with these guys for many years. After my last incedent with them I havent gone back to them. I Ordered custom back spacing on American Racing Hopster rims, and they sent 5 on 5 for the rearend (a 59 Ford 9 inch), non-returnable!! They are very slow also. This is just my experiences, and they don't always screw **** up. I just would'nt want to see a fellow HAMBer get his parts ****ed up.
Don't take any chances. The best price is most offen not the best deal. I would suggest you deal with a Dealer that has a good reputation and has been around for a long time. These dealers have been aroud for many years because they offer good products at a fair price and will stand behind the parts. If you have a problem they will work with you to take care of it. So many of these new companys with these great prices offer NO tech support and once they have your money they don't want to help with any problems. If you have a problem you are on your own. You are doing the right thing by asking about their reputation and service after you buy the parts. This company is most likley not the best choice if you can't return the part or get tech support after you have purchased it.
Run away, fast. Rodparts Warehouse ****s. If you do decide, make sure you use a credit card so you can (and will most likely need to) get your money back. They are infamous for shorting an order and not sending the correct stuff. How much delay and aggravation is a few bucks worth? Use a reputable supplier as Bob J suggests. Spend $50 to join the HAMB Alliance and you will find good vendors that give you a good deal on parts and service.
