    Very Clean work Louie.

Your not going to leave it though where you can access your bags from the trunk area though? I know either way would work, but that always seemed like a built in safety feature if you HAD to access your bags on the side of the road in case of failure.

Very nice work you did! I have a few questions for you.

    1. Did you do the bead work?
    2. The original trunk floors are reinforced with ribbed metal underneath, I presume to carry the weight of the full tank and provide for space for the gauge sender. Did you have to address that issue?
    3. From the size of the axle hump I take it you deeply notched the frame. Was it a kit or did you fab it yourself?
    4. Lastly, what's the capacity of the Mustang tank?

Again, really nice work. My compliments.

  15. Your trunk turned out really nice Louie. How did you vent that Mustang tank? I'm doing one soon and have a few ideas floatin' around in my head, but I'm not sure which to go with.

    Thanks, Bryan

Bryan im not that far yet do you have any ideas?I did not do the all the work my friends John and Lalo done the welding and beading the floor is sturdy the way we set it up.

  17. A guy here used the original gas door, so he moved his filler neck on the Mustang tank to the stock location with a vented cap (obviously not an option for you and probably not the way I'm going since I want to fill my gas door). From what I've been reading, most people use tubing either off the filler neck or somewhere on the tank and route it under the car. There's also a valve that racers use to prevent gas from spilling in the event of a roll-over...I need to read up on where to pick one of those up...Summit probably.

If you come up with something, let me know.

    Thanks, Bryan

    Nice work!

On my 54, I raised the trunk floor about 4" so the new stock style poly tank would be tucked up higher than the cross member. I used 1x1 tubing to build the floor frame then I used 16ga for the floor itself. I'm using the stock fuel filler still. It's still not done... I need to figure out how I want to finish out the rear hump!
