I am not an alliance member (yet) but there are alot of places that sell parts. I am looking for places people have had good experience with or have hard to find parts or any general opinions about it. I am pretty much set on a 5" drop I beam axle. I am also going to be needing spindles (unless somebody has some 40 ford type spindles and wishbone for sale:) and or hairpins.. so where should I go?

I like speedway, I just ordered a complete front end kit from them. I was also going to a 5" drop beam but I got a 4" drop with a reversed eye spring, kinda bout the same as a 5" drop(saved some money going that way). Anyways I had a good experience with them, customer service is great. The prices are reasonable....just my 2...

Didnt mean to knock on Speedway I think they are a good company with GREAT sales service. But I too bought a complete front end setup from them a few years ago and wasnt happy with it at all.
Quality of the parts was the issue, being dulled and pitted chrome didnt help either!

Do the Alliance thing and Eric (Vaphead) from Riley Automotive the ONLY way to go.

Right now speedway is back ordered 2-3 months on axles and spindles, depending on what you get. Their supplier base cannot keep up with ever increasing demand.

You need to call speedway first on back orders. I placed an order for front brake kit with them and it said it was back ordered for a few weeks. I got an email conformation a day later that it shipped.
Theres some really good deals on suspension parts through the Alliance discount, but it pays to shop around and price check.
So far I havent used my Alliance discount on parts.

  9. I agree, forget Speedway, they might be nice on the phone but when it comes to a problem, they wont budge or help you out.
For exaple, I had a defective shock, but since I bought the part 4 month ago, while building the car, they would not send me a replacement or try to help me out. Keep in mind the shock had seen 0 miles at this time.
So I ordered another one and asked them if they at least would void the shipping, the answer was no.
Similar problem with a master cylinder. Alot of parts they sell are cheap chinese imports, and alot of "key" components like brake parts, I had to replace since they did not work right.
I have not used Riley (Vaphead) yet but I hear nothing but good things about the company.

I've never ordered anything from Speedway, but when I look through their catalog I would always get the impression that a lot of the parts they sell ARE cheap...guess i was right.

  13. This is the best deal I have found including Eric(VAPHEAD) Call Doug at Cowtown Speedshop.....a complete I beam front end, which would include: superbell drop axle, spring, shackles, perches, shock mounts, spindles, disc brakes,(complete kit) steering arms, tie rod, drag link, Four bar, batwings, brackets, and all hardware. You would be looking at $1,275.00 even. Here's his number 816-365-2136
