I've struggled for a while about making this post.I just want to say how much i appreciate the fact that Kenny lets me hang out at his shop and is teaching me the trade.I stay in the background so i don't interrupt his work and try to soak as much info in as i can.He has already taught me so much about safety that i should've already known.I practice on and old car i bought and it's painfully obvious his craft is mucher harder then he makes it look.So to anyone that has a chance to learn from those with decades of experience don't let it pass you by.............Greg

Greg don't sell yourself short. You're a hell of a guy to. Was good meeting and hanging out with you at the Hamb drags. You are one lucky SOB to get to hang out with Kenny all the time. I try to suck up the knowledge everytime I'm around him as well.

I can't pass up a chance to praise Kenny. I've been to Elmer twice but he was cordial and helpful both times. He represents what's good about the hobby and the HAMB. A real gentleman and craftsman.

(Does this make me a member of the Choprods fanclub?)

If Kenny doesn't watch out, with threads like this, he'll end with the Powertour, or Americruise making Elmer one of their stops. Can you see 1000 people trying to eat across the street at the cafe?

He is right. Guys like kenny and my dad make it look like they are warming up a tv dinner, when in reality its like making an extravagant 5 course meal. The things they do with cars is amazing and the little amount of time it takes them (comparitively) is awe inspiring. Im very lucky to have my dad to teach me. I highly doubt ill ever be as good as him at fabrication and body work but ill try my best.

So to my dad (nickgee), choprods, roadstar, enjenjo, and all the other guys on here that go out of there way to teach us the tricks of the trade. Thanks a million. the hobby wouldn't be anyting with out guys like you.

I must agree with all. I have delt with Kenny for a year or two now and I couldn't meet a nicer man. My soon to be wife and I absolutely love his attitude, his stories, and look forward to learning from his style of hotrod building.
PS: If there is a Choprods fan club, count me in!

  9. Isnt that what this hot rod thing is all about? Passing the knowledge on??
Its great there are some that are willing to take the time to do so.

Kenny is a class act...i purchased a 31 truck that he was THE owner of...he picked the truck up in pieces, rebuilt it and was strong enough not to change it...it passed through some hands after him but i consider him THE owner before me...i dig this truck and consider myself lucky to be the one who has it...the truck is identical to the pics i am sure most have seen...i will not change a thing...last weekend i posted pics and with in two hours i was on the phone with kenny who i had never known...he was a great guy and was able to put me in touch with the folks who new the builder of the truck back in 1959...I want to say thanks to KENNY,GREG, and WEEDS who ALL went out of there way to help a guy out that they never met, its good to know guys like you all still exist...THANKS Whitey

  25. I was gonna save this for your eulogy Kenny,... but what the hell...here goes...I've known Kenny since I was like 8-9yrs old I'm 38 now,(so I comfortably blame my hotrod sickness on him), his cars are my first memories of hotrods...ever...and most recently he was a real blessing when I was badly hurt in an accident and had to spend many months at home with my parents healing up (07/05 - 05/06)...he taught me a lot in the couple of months I got to spend with him..and sometimes even let me help...I'd ask him lots of questions, like...how long somthing would take?...he would respond with ..."O bout 2 days for me...a week if you help!", and then he would show me the way...I'm lucky for having him in my life for so long....I have to talk with him every week or so just to give him an update on my progress or pick his brain on somthing before I go off half cocked and do something I'd regret later, he always makes his opinion known and he never fails to tell me when he thinks one of my ideas sux... He also introduced me to the HAMB...
So Kenny thanks for being a mentor, a teacher, and my most of all... my friend...

    Chris~
