I love VW's and always will! I have restored more than I can remember and love the reliability of them! I just restored my wifes and finished last week, she loves it! Here are mine...top left is hers and the others I sold over time, along with a crap load more! And my old shop in the one is from 1999.

Man, I must be at the beach with a bunch of chicks, cause there's a lot of sand in a lot of vaginas in here. lol

    Why doesn't everyone stop bitching?

Someone asked for an "O.T." in the title of the thread "so I can avoid this shit."..... what? That "VW" in there didn't give away what was in here?

Christs sakes people... if you don't want to read it, don't read it. I read thread titles all day long that I think look as gay as a sailor in a bikini... know what I do when I realize that? I MOVE ON AND DON'T OPEN THE THREAD.

Maybe it's something you can try? ;)

PS: Maybe some of you are just pissed because a well modded classic VW with a full street interior can be made to run 9's/10's all day long.... how many of you have rods with 9-10 second slips? UH OH! hehehe

For the most part it looks really "cool". Wheels suck though. Looks better with the original wheels.

There are quite a few pretty nice ones around Houston and even out in the country, New Ulm TX in particular.

  9. This is the fucking H.A.M.B..... idiot. (name calling isn't nice)

Spreading the gospel of traditional hot rods and kustoms to greasers world wide...

Does that say VW bling-blang bouncin' shitboxes...?

I've watched this go off the first page and keep praying it'll stay gone... but nope.
Someone has to drag it back up to bitch about the bitching...

    Let it die.....

maybe you should stop long enuff to read your post
funny you say name calling isnt nice but yet you turn around and call my work that i do myself none of it was sent out to have done a shitbox

i work on my own shit.if you dont like it then thats fine.ive been pretty nice about all the shit talking as it doesnt matter.anything good or bad thats said about my cars just makes me do changes or do something out of the ordinary to be different.but when you shit talk my credibility on my cars and my work that is to much.

thanks to everyone that likes it.and to everyone that doesnt like it.sure its not triditional.but it still has that hot rod effect with a twist

kinda like some guys that have fenderless rods with a 20 inch wheel on the rear and 17 inch or 18 inch wheel on the front to give the old style big wheel small wheel look.guess thats triditional also

might want to read what you write next time

ignorant people suck! My dad was a hardcore traditional rodder growing up in SoCal and he loved VWs and built over 20 of them and showed them all over.....and at the same time he had a 29, 32 and a 49 truck all done by him in his home garage. Not once would anyone think he was a shitbox builder.....hed probably kill you just for thinking it! He always told me "people who specialize in one car, are people who are too stupid to remember how another one is put together!" Broaden your horizens and take in as much as you can we only live once! Also....isnt funny how many people have posted in this thread? HUMMMMM......makes you wonder huh junkyard pup!

Ohhh! one more important thing for all you history buffs!.....Henry Ford was offered the rights to buy the VW production plant and early on stated "his advisory staff told him it would be a horrible choice to make, the cars would be too small for Americans and they would NEVER sell in the USA".......one year later the VW became the largest sold vehicle in 3 countries including the US and Henry Ford Stated in a newspaper article that "not buying the VW rights was one of the biggest mistakes he had made"! So just so you people know....VW was almost a Ford product but people like YOU HATERS got in the way of things! No other car in history has passed up the VW in sales and production per year. The end! See what universities can produce! Knowlege!

My grandfather raced them in the 50s and 60s, mainly because that's what was available when he was stationed overseas. I believe these were taken in Africa or Germany. I still have the trophy on my mantle. Wish I could have met the guy.

  15. Actually, the story is, Ernest Breech, from FoMoCo, went over right after WW2 as the VW factory was free for the taking, as in, take the machinery, and get it outta here, or leave it here, and start making cars again... Mr. Breech, having retured to Detroit after touring the factory, was asked by Edsel Ford what he thought of the VW plant. Mr. Breechs words were exactly these, preserved for all posterity-

"Mr. Ford, I don't believe what we are being offered here is worth a damn"

Who'd have guessed that decades later FORD would be sucking it and VWAG would be one of the more profitable auto groups?:D

    Funny,
All you naysayers, and yet this thread got plenty of positive responses, even from Da'Boss hisself, Ryan was entertained. It's his party, his bandwidth, and he gave it the go ahead.
VW's have been hotrodded nearly as long as many other cars. I remember getting my ass handed to me once by a lowered suspiciously rowdy sounding bug. Turned out to be a turbo'd 2180 Man that thing was scary fast. My 400 horse Firebird went home embarrased that night. With the power to weight ratio, the engine being right over the rear wheels, man these things are insane with a little horsepower. I got into them not too long after getting spanked. I had a 65 with a 2180, Dual carbs, it was fun, then later I had a
68 wit a smaller but more streetable 1835. FUN FUN cars!

You no likey? no clicky fer fucks sakes!

I REALLY like VW's! I like them alot. I really like traditional styled one's for that matter. These have some top notch work done to them and HOT VW as well VW Trends will probably freak out...

Now I realize we stray off topic to keep things interesting and see what's going on out there with custom projects, but JEESHH!! Just don't think this is the place. There are tons of VW sights out there and I don't think this should become one of them.

Just my opinion. Not whining. Just wish we would stick to the early iron we usually talk about.

    Just the same, nice work.
