Thought you'd all like to see my latest project. I wanted a model a truck but they're a bit too short on the inside for me but I didn't want a fully extended cab either. So I started with a VERY rusty 1930 cowl and doors. A 30' sedan back and a tailgate. I made everything else. Including the english wheel I needed to do it. The entire bed is made from scratch as well as the frame. I wanted a 32 grill shell but couldn't afford one so I made that from scratch as well. Even the front axle is from an old Ford truck that I shortened 7 inches. If anyone is interested I'll post pictures of the entire build. I also have posted pictures of the 1930 pontiac roadster I'm building for a friend. Also anyone going to Viva this year can see it in person!I'm also thinking of repainting it in black suede or possibly gloss black and I'd be interested in comments!

    Thanks, Eddie

That's incredible! I'd realy like to see your build pix. I will need to build a bed for my truck and would like to see what you did.

I can't afford to go out and buy a bunch of repro stuff so that leaves me the other option, make it.

Wow thanks for replys! Lets see if I can answer all the questions together. The steering box is a '40 Ford. The air cleaner is also made from scratch (incedentially it was stolen about a month ago but I have another one made already) from 5052 aluminum. I'm considering chopping it but I'm not sure yet(head room issues). If i paint it gloss it will be black but again I'm still not sure. I like to drive them around for a month or two before I decide on the paint. I'm going to try to put togther a full construction post but I type like shit and it takes awhile!
    Thanks for the compliments!

I really like the color 'as-is', and the wheels, and the grill shell, and the interior....and....and....

I just DIG Model A pick 'em ups!

very nice, is the frame just straight (no kick up at either end), looks like the headers end pretty low, do you have something in mind for them?

Man! VERY cool little truck you put together!
Don't wait too long on the build post or we'll have to send a rollback to bring it to HAMB world headquarters and reverse engineer it!!! LoL

Wouldn't have a few teaser shots of your front axle setup you could post before the big post would ya!?!? Hahaha

Looks great without a chop in my opinion...like a useable truck should look.

I'm not sure if I'll keep those headers or not. The frame has just a little more kickup in the front than a model a. I'll try to post some pics of the axle tonight when I get home. I'll put together a build series, the only problem is that I'm a much better metal fabricator than I am a typer!! Especially since I smashed my typing finger! Thanks for all the feedback!!
