What do you regret letting go of?

  1. 67 Mustang GT350. Look at what they sell for now.
67 Mustang coupe. Looked like a taxicab. 390 - 4 speed. No options. Tremendous fun.

  2. My youthful figure.

My '65 Impala SS, I took out the tired 283/'Glide and put in a 402 BB and a Turbo 350. I had to replace the quarters and such, and painted it black with wide Rally's....sold it for $1400....idiot!

Haha....I must say selling an barnfind, Flathead-V8 powered 1932 Plymouth....actual roadster. Not a chopped up coupe. Oh...and an Model-A roadster windsheild frame for $50.00

And the '40 Ford cab, with axle, all that, for $100.00! That was stupid, also barn find. Lopped off behind the cab though.

Hmmm...and the '31 Chevy (same barnfind) which I sold to finance a trailer.

Don't ever let people talk you into having to "restore" old cars you find in barns. Theres plenty enough around. Thats what happened to me.

But its not a bad thing, Chevy went to an old guy whose dad had one, currently restoring it and rebuilding all the wood. Plymouth stays with one of my friends, who has swapped in an 50's Hemi. Ford...went to Ohio for some guy to take the fenders and leave it. Wanted to get it back, do a decent build out of it, unable to do so.

    Only two women I regret...

1947 Ford convert-sold to a friend that had to have it and build his dream car. He sold it 2 weeks later.
1937 Chev convert-sold to pay bills when my dad died. it did the job, but I still would have liked to keep it.
    1956 Chev Cameo-Again, I needed the money.
1932 Ford 2 door sedan body, chopped 3". I knew I couldn't replace it for what I was in it, but the cost of life came first.

I could choose from a '57 Chevy, a '32 five window, a '40 coupe, the RPU, or a small fortune in rare parts..... Somehow I don't miss any of it though.

This stuff is all just stuff.

These 5 pictured are at the top of my regret selling list. These were all sold in the last 5 years, too. There was also a '66 Mustang, '59 Fairlane, '65 T-bird and a '59 T-bird but I don't have pictures of those handy. Oh and the '66 Cutl*** conv. I had in high school.

Oh well, I have way too many cars as it is. Can't keep them all. I'm just glad I had the sense to take good pictures of most of these cars.

Not really that I miss it....its just that I had my hands on the stuff I wanted, then sold it, now I'm having to scrounge around for it.

  14. No regrets really, because if i sold something, the next car was more exciting or i wouldn't have done it. But, if i could have a couple back, i'd say my first Vette. 64 365HP roadster with flares, Indy tires on 10" Cragars, and a little lip on the rear with no bumpers(sold for $2k). Or my 38 Chevy Master 85 done like a traditional Lowrider with 350/350, slammed on Tru-Spokes, and light blue/dk. blue fenders(sold for $1700)

In the late eighties my Dad wanted to retire so we dissolved a business partnership and property. He said I would have to buy the property from him even though I had already paid off the first lienholder, the bank..He was a second lienholder and really should of just forgiven it and walked away with his business dividends..Oh well, being short of cash I traded him my Beloved 57 Nomad,my trusty BMW R90S, my sweet 62 Galaxie 390 convertable, a ratty but running 54 Bel-Air 4dr. and a few other things..Had to keep my eye on the prize, the property..giving up my Nomad ripped my heart out....

My '70 Nova SS...true 396 SS with a bench seat and 4 speed...never have seen another one. Wonder what that would be worth now..... I bought it for $600.00 and sold it for $300.00 because I blew the motor up preparing to race a Mustang on Third Street. That was when you could still cruise there...damn, that was a long time ago...so was being 19.

A close second would be my '58 Plymouth followed by the '66 Chevelle, etc...

Back in the early 70's my Dad wanted to GIVE ME his old '40 Chevy 2 door sedan, but I didn't want it because I already had a '38 Ford sedan stock flathead 3 speed and a '53 Ford F100 with a 401 Nailhead Buick.
He sold it to a low rider guy in Long Beach, Ca. for a few hundred bucks. Talk about kicking myself!!!
Here's a picture of him and my little brother by the car back in the late sixties (they are both p***ed away now).

    I know how you feel.
    The worst part about my '36 5/w in the above post;
The builder destroyed the perfectly good '36 to look exactly like a typical Minotti.
Oh, I sold him the 354 Hemi that went with the car too...

Like everyone else miss all my old cars, but the one I miss the most was my 1969 SS 396/375 HP (solid lifter)chevelle, disc brakes, a/c , vacuum power door locks, 4 speed, 12 bolt 4:56 gears, ****ernut yellow with a black vinyl top and black stripe down the side. The kid I sold it too stripped the original color and painted blue, I cry my self to sleep everytime I think of that car.
